Nick Fisher is the Pac-12 DPOW

We are losing a lot on defense next year, the secondary especially. The young players have flashed enough in their limited snaps this year to make me feel more comfortable for next year.
I misread - you mean the prospect of losing the seniors isn't as bad -- I get it. I thought initially you were saying the group next year wasn't scary anymore.

Yeah. Crazy to think that we're sitting here talking about losing Chido, Tedric & Spoon with us getting comfortable with CU's ability to reload from that next year. Twilight Zone stuff. This is fun.

I would actually be excited for this secondary if we can add a JUCO CB and slide Julmisse into the CB/NB role that Chido occupies.

Watching the game with my son ,8 yrs. old, and Fisher makes a good play. I say "who the hell is that Fisher kid" The boy says "he's in for the guy who got the boot". Then that 4th down clutch play happens and my son says "bet you won't forget who Nick Fisher is anymore"
I was impressed with his play ,and his future buff playing days are something I'm anticipating greatly.

So awesome that your son is paying attention. And he was right.

Talk about a favorable first impression!

Can't replace all that game experience. But we do get faster, I think. Another vet from the JUCO or grad transfer ranks would make an impact, I agree.

Reload in backfield. Still concerned about DL...but I'm sure it'll work out.

just wow. we dodged that bullet

Falk had the TD but didn't take it. Just a split second more and he would've seen his guy breaking down the sideline wide open. Also, Gillam totally blew covering the guy. Was it Sweet? Gillam was supposed to stay on him it looked like.

Did we put Crawley into a starting NFL job and improve our defensive backfield in the process? Not suggesting addition by substraction, just how did THAT happen?

This is driving my Tempe buddies crazy. They've recruited .much higher DBs year after year, snubbed hometown boy Oliver, and week after week their DBs perform a keystone cop routine.

Falk didn't have the TD. Look at the video, Fisher didn't break from the deep guy until Falk had already committed to the open crossing route underneath. The deep guy only appears to be open because Fisher has a great read on Falk and reacts in time to make the stop.

You are right about Gillam blowing the coverage on the crossing route though.

unless falk was pump faking, you are right. It was a big gamble to leave his man... but a good one.

I love these kids in the secondary.... Oliver reminds me of Chris Hudson back there..... Laguda is developing in to a player that WR's will be weary of going over the middle.... (I am actually not a fan of the game being played that way for safety reasons- but it is still legal if you hit below the head and above the knee)....

This is a fun team to watch!!!

Bad system for DBs at ASU. Coaching doesn't seem very good either.

That play showed an example of WSU's route running all game. They did a lot of routes to create traffic that are just short of being pick plays and it often got a receiver wide open like that. Fisher's awareness of where the play headed was outstanding.
