Nick Fisher is the Pac-12 DPOW

Falk didn't have the TD. Look at the video, Fisher didn't break from the deep guy until Falk had already committed to the open crossing route underneath. The deep guy only appears to be open because Fisher has a great read on Falk and reacts in time to make the stop.

You are right about Gillam blowing the coverage on the crossing route though.
Yep, watching it live, I thought Falk blew the TD, but the replay definitely shows Fisher playing a great "rubberband" technique on the two receivers, until he saw Falk commit to the crosser. It's great coaching, and an even better use of technique by Fisher along with a tremendous individual play. Gillam definitely blew the coverage, though.

Hope everyone appreciates how great of an athlete a guy needs to be in order to pull off that play. Fisher is playing Safety for us as a sub 11 second guy in the 100m who was also a damn good long & triple jumper in high school. The athleticism of this team is at a very high level and getting better with each recruiting class.

I'd feel pretty good about playing Toledo, if we had to this year!

Did you see Falk hit guys that were blanketed the entire game? There was plenty of space that Falk could've hit that guy. Fisher was in no man's land.

In the context of the play, Falk was looking for the 1st down, Fisher was covering the deep guy and he read the missed assignment on the crossing route. If Fisher doesn't react immediately to when he did, that play not only gets WSU the 1st down but may also score if the crosser can make Fisher miss. 99% of the time that play will gain 5+ yards just off the momentum of the receiver. Every time I watch that I am more impressed at Fisher on that play. Falk made the correct read and throw, Fisher made a all-american quality play to stop it.

Fisher actually made atleast 2 of those 3rd down plays (both real similar in yardage, down, play)
