Offense and WR's: Overrated?

180 degree opposite. I think we're underrated. I don't follow these things closely but I don't believe we're picked to win the P12 or the South again. We're not in anybody's pre-season top 20 or the top of any unit rankings on O or D. I think it suits our M. O. to fly under the radar.
Semantics, but we are in a few voter's top 20.

As the season progresses, we just might see Ento and Winfree even with or ahead of Bobo and Fields in rec and yds. Not a bad problem to have.

Buffs' WRs are legitimately ranked, as a squad, in the top 5 NCAA (as most pundits do). I agree that the offense will only go as far as Montez will bring them, but I think he will do fine if he stays healthy. Seriously, the keys to the offense this season are simply that Montez and Lindsay don't go down, and everyone else performs merely as expected.

So in 2 years Chiv built this receiving corp from average to a top 5 group in the nation...this man must stay at all costs!!!!!!!!

You know that he must be getting $ discussion from others that CU can't match.
I'm hoping his love for CU mitigates any offers he might get. I hope BL leaves so Chiv can be OC and stay! But as much as I've had questions about BL, we seem to be loaded at QB now.

"Loaded" at QB seems to be a strange characterization when all 4 of them have a total of 3 NCAA starts, but I strangely agree. Barring transfers and injuries, they seem to be in good shape going forward.

He's been on the college coaching roller coaster. He knows that you have to get it when you can but also knows that the highest paying job isn't always the best one.

The big dollar offers will come, probably already have started. CU won't be able to match all of them but those places won't be able to offer Boulder. CU needs to come up with enough money and enough other pluses to give him reason to ignore the $$ figures.

In time here and it has already started he should get more influence over the offense, more influence over who we recruit, I would even be good with giving him more input over future hires of offensive coaches. Final decision on all that stuff of course would stay with M2 but Chiv is an up and comer in the coaching business. Make the job interesting enough for him that he has to think twice before leaving.

True. Loaded might be too strong a word but I'm impressed w what I've seen and am hearing...even Marksberry is getting noticed as a WO!

By that interpretation minus a slightly more experienced starter, could you ever say any team is loaded at QB?

Re Chev, along with his ties to CU, large pay increase, eventual multi year contract, and eventual promotion to full time OC, his son is now a player on the team. I would imagine he stays in Boulder for the foreseeable future short of an elite level coordinator position being offered.
