I listened to about 10 minutes of his speech. I swear there was a moment where I thought he was about to go off on "This ain't intramurals, brotha!

This isnt going to happen, but Charlie Strong is perfect at Baylor. That program needs a culture change, and he'd be given latitude to do it there.

Don't think anybody is "perfect" at Baylor. That program is a disaster that is going to get worse before it gets better. They have almost death penaltied themselves with losing most of last years class and this years class going to be whatever they can throw together in the next few weeks against the backdrop of their scandal.

Charlie seems to smart to get himself involved in that mess. With a little patience he will be able to have his choice of better situations.

While I'm not at all concerned about MM going to bailer, the thought of losing Leavitt to Cal is concerning to me.

The real worry is that he goes to Oregon, imho. Outweighed only if he took one of the Az jobs forcing us to play him annually. Yikes.

Leavitt seems like a horrible fit at Oregon. Arizona, OTOH... let's hope they don't come calling anytime soon. Hopefully the win over ASU bought Rich Rod another year.

Also, one of these PAC 12 teams would be smart to go after mason before vandy locks him up to an extension.

BTW, the talk of Kelly returning is pretty funny. He wants no part of that job after the way Helfrich was treated (the two are close).

He was instrumental in getting Helfrich and the rest of that staff hired/retained after he left. He will not go back.
Wouldn't going back allow him to ensure the rest of the staff is hired/retained besides just Helfrich and maintain the continuity of his legacy rather than seeing the whole thing disintegrate?

I have zero insider info - just spit balling.

Kelly hates recruiting, and hated dealing with boosters. He's not going back to coach in college
What does he hate more - dealing with boosters and recruiting or failing and being fired?

It is amazing what someone can accept when they realize there is not a better alternative.

You may be right, I'm more using the guy who was fired at UT to illustrate how bad a job that really is. Chad Morris (great profile as an OC, but can't be given anything more than an incomplete grade as a head coach) said no to $4.5 million per. Mac, Dykes, and Fedora all have better jobs, and I'd argue Lincoln Riley is going to get looks for better jobs than that debacle.

They're playing in a bowl because it's the last one they're going to for the next few years, and they know it.

Taggart would be a great hire by Oregon if it happens.
I agree, Taggart or Fleck are perfect in Oregon imo. Duff, not coming at you but I'm surprised you agree considering what you said about Kiffin. Taggart isn't a defensive minded coach and USF's defense is among the worst in college football this year. Is it moreso that a dominating run game coach would be more of a better fit and would help the defense?

Won't dance around it. Young, successful, black head coaches are hard to find. Taggart is a potential game changer in that regard.

Kiffin has fallen up to every job he has ever had.
