Harsin spent 1 year at Arkansas St before the Boise gig and before that was at Tejas as a QB/Co OC for 2 years. He has ties in the region.
Would Peterson then go back to Boise St coach into the sunset?

I think Gary Pinkel saw the situation detriorating long term. Mizzou has a lot of problems.

Mizzou was crap before Pinkel got there, he did a lot of work to elevate that program. They're just regressing to what they are.

True, but I think Pinkel understood he had peaked there, and it was likely to trend down. That and health concerns...Mizzou is well positioned to be a SEC doormat.
