Ugly is in the eye of the beholder. I think RG and his bosses have some pretty serious beer goggles on.Odd, because a pretty ugly season is exactly what I’m expecting.
Trying to get positive about the upcoming season….this helped me. Looks like we have some awesome personalities on the team.

Jerdough says we're going to win another Natty guys! I forgot to ask him if I'll be alive to see it.

Tucker lost to AFA with a 5th yr fringe NFL QB and Shenault. Dorrell can at least duplicate that.I was at lunch today with a couple of coworkers and I said to this one guy who went to KU, I bet KU will win more games than CU this year. Then the other guy says you sure are singing a different tune then you were a few years ago with Mel Tucker. Yes. Yes I am.
That AFA loss was baaad. Team was lackluster from the start and the secondary couldn't stop AFA's passing attack. Not AFA's sneaky play action passing attack, they couldn't stop AFA's 3rd and long passing attack. What a turd of a game.Tucker lost to AFA with a 5th yr fringe NFL QB and Shenault. Not only did Mel get thoroughly out coached, both sides of the line got their a$$es kicked. That AFA loss was baaad. Actually, with the coaching transition and the interference of the big cigars, this upcoming season will really be Sark's first year at UT....Yeah and I remember the year Lane Kiffin and a half dozen, shirtless assistants, led by Ed Orgeron, came screaming into a team meeting at U Tennessee.
UT wasn't worth a damn that year, or for few seasons since! All those coachs are now gone or out of CFB!
Then, there is always the great Sarkisian! (He's kind of like the Ghost of Kiev = mythical!) Shows up in Austin, has to play with a roster full of 4 & 5 star players and manages to LOSE TO KANSAS in a bad season!!!
Just sayin'.......................

I'm genuinely curious what his deal is.This guy is trolling or he has discovered the CFB equivalent of cold fusion and is prepared to give to HCKD.
I think we get there. Probably by game 7, maybe early game 8.Do we have the offense to score 28?
Calling @bwalkThe amount of negativity here is unprecedented. I’m fully convinced this team is going bowling this year because AllBuffs has never had a consensus like this turn out correct.
I see no realistic path for the defense to be better. Our team is not as bad as it looked last season.
That was historically bad coaching on the offensive side.
So I do think there's a certainty that we will be better.
What I don't know is whether the combination of competent OL coaching & playcalling along with an S&C program I believe in finally showing significant improvement is enough to make this an enjoyable & encouraging season. I'm very skeptical, but do have a glimmer of hope.
I don't either beyond the DL making things easier on everyone by being veteran & stout. That can cover a lot while others improve through practice & game reps. It's a thin hope, though.I see no realistic path for the defense to be better.
The losses in the back 7 will be extremely rough. Combine that with losing all our pass rushers from a team that sucked at pass rushing makes for a long year.I don't either beyond the DL making things easier on everyone by being veteran & stout. KD has said multiple times the offense is completely different. We will see as I question whether that was fully Chev's offense or not last yearRead an article where it was stated that the offense is starting from scratch under Sanford. I hope that means HCKD burned the offense playbook from last season and Sanford designs the offense to take advantage of the strengths of the players on offense.
Feeling a bit of optimism but that usually happens at this point of the year.

I think the front seven has a chance to be pretty good. I know that’s blasphemous with the loss of Wells and Landman, but the WVU transfer is a really good player, possibly a more athletic Landman, and Barnes is a high talent player who has finally achieved the size to play in the box.
The size, depth, and experience on the DL this year is something this program hasn’t really had since 2016. They are missing the Jimmie Gilbert from that group, so someone will need to step up as a pure pass rusher

Don't forget, we'll hold most the playbook back the first few games, so we don't give anything away. The offense is totally different so we can simplify the playbook in the bye week and focus on fundamentals.
Next off season we’ll dial it back and make sure the guys can just play football since they’ll be thinking so much this year.
This off-season they’re drinking through a firehose so they’ll really be able to just react next year. Also we’re young! But we also have depth!
