Official 2025 Fall Camp Thread

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills with these videos. They should suck after losing a Heisman two way player and an elite CFB QB..... but I swear this looks way more like a normal Top 25 team then we've seen in 25 years.

Excited Oh Yeah GIF

Both
Late middle throws off back foot do not work in college. But Davis was glued to receiver and in good position.
Good way for Juju to learn what things worked in HS that don't work in college, although a lot of college teams don't have a corner who makes that play.

Why does everyone think we will suck this year? Is it just we lost Travis and Shedeur and so we will definitely suck? I’m on the heartland college sports board and they are all good guys over there, but are all convinced CU is a bottom half of the Big 12 team. This team looks loaded to me.
This is the liquidity on the other side of all CU bets. We want them to be ignorant.

I think our RB room is fine. Potentially very good actually.

Hayden in year 4. He should be solid if not spectacular.
Taylor will be a change of pace at his size, but only played RB one full year and was first team conference and got noticed.
Price got PT at both Miss State and Liberty, so we should be able to count on him and hey, that hurdle was pretty impressive.
Welch at 5'9" 215 played as a True Frosh and can likely make a step up.

I see 4 capable RBs with a little mix of different skills. We know Taylor was a slot and Price has caught some passes.

Add in Dre'lon and Mikell (RB in high school) as utility knives and I think there's a solid combination of skills and competition. I think we see Dre'lon lining up at RB, wildcat, H-back and flexing outside with a lot of motion. I have no info on this, but it's what I'd do.

If the OL is decent, we will win a lot of games.

just a quick reminder that, as we speed to another great season of CU FOOTBALL, please consider your phrasing when you are offering critiques of any of our Buff players. I know the landscape has changed and these are all now paid to play (at vastly different rates, of course). suggesting, for example, that a guy definitively cannot play based upon your assessment of game tape from a prior school is a bit much.

please don't make us mods have to sober up and moderate.

That’s probably fair. I’m assuming locks are: DJ at one corner and Hodge in the slot.
Johnson seems to be the leader for the other outside CB right now with Parks and Davis being in rotation. Vickers coming back healthy would be big for depth and competition as well and Noah King might have the highest upside of all of them but is a True Freshman.

I’d like to hear @cnbuff410 reasoning for being concerned. Not to say it’s unwarranted but to me, the concern is that we just don’t know who will emerge as the primary guy opposite DJ. Also, we’ve been spoiled the past couple years at the position.

I think he will do well. It'll be a heavy run based offense
You need to check his game stat log. Bro did JACK **** against legit opponents. And by legit opponents I'm talking about the likes of CSU, Arizona, Auburn and Wyoming. He can't read defenses and has a limited arm. The only thing he knows how to do is take off when the play breaks down.

So, exactly the kind of QB that murders us. Gotcha. Great. Thanks.

We'll see, but I think he fits how Utah wants to run their offense.
