Official 2025 Fall Camp Thread

Salter brings an entirely different dimension to the game than Shedeur did and he can be a decent passer. He’s not going to have the passing numbers that Shedeur did and likely won’t have the same kind of “wow” throws, but Salter is capable of being more productive all around than Shedeur.

So…we’ll be retiring his number at the end of the season?

Kaidon Salter’s career completion percentage is 58.7%. Shedeur’s completion percentage was 69.3% in 2023 and 74% last year. Salter brings a lot to the table, but he is not completing 74% of his passes. Neither is a true freshman. Juju will be in elite company if he completes 65%. Trevor Lawrence was 65.2% as a freshman.
Sacks don’t count against your completion percentage. Shedeur would rather take a sack than throw an incomplete pass.

I don’t want this to come across like I’m claiming Shedeur isn’t a great QB. He is. He also put the offense in some tough spots.

Better than Shadeur had.

ESPN used the term “Rebuild” because we lost 6 guys to the NFL, despite improving in every position except QB and some guy named Travis Hunter. Not the definition of “Rebuild” or even “Reload”. I would say we simply had to “Retool” and it takes about 5-6 guys to make up for those 2 and the other receivers, but we have those guys in place.

The key is Leadership and Par Shurmur’s offense!!!
Are we sure QB play won’t be better this year? SS was great, but not having five 2nd and 30s a game might help O be more efficient.

we gonna win.

8 to 10 Ws. culture and program trajectory established and reinforced. another group of guys will go into the NFL talking up our Gold Jacket coaches and our elite coordinators and of course CP.

keep us moving on up. I can't wait to share a division with the fuskers again. it will be glorious. the journey is long but the destination is written.

Easy to remember all the hero ball sacks, but don’t forget about all the miracle 30 yard completions. If QB play is better, it will be because garbage pass protection is now above average.
Exactly. We remember the bad and forget a lot of the good. He took sacks because keeping a play alive by holding on too long was often our only chance to move the ball.

Had he just thrown it away more often, there would have been a lot more 4th and 6s

OMG what a possibility

IMO, SS has all the skills necessary and the real question for doubters, is whether he has the heart, drive, desire to be a winner. On the last 1.5 minute drive to tie baylor, there were several times when SS and the Buffs got punched in the face::sack, fumble, bad calls and spots, dropped TD reception; but SS did not drop back to 95% effort or get discouraged at all. If you need to know about his competitiveness, desire to win, that minute and a half proves what he's got.

and hero ball sacks leading to a 74% completion rate.
It's also easy to remember to 2nd and 30 completion followed by 3 and out bc we couldn't make a field goal from where ever we were.

The Hail Mary “drive”?

Bad take. This team’s depth is far superior to last year’s team. Shedeur willed the offense to success despite a disastrous OL. This year’s OL will be a strength.
I'm hoping for a Tee Martin situation this year. He's not in the same stratosphere as Manning, but the roster peaked the year he inherited the job and him making plays with his legs added some things that work in the college game.

Mata can't kick it further than 35 yards with accuracy, so did it really matter?
