After the media has made excuses for ND, I am tired of the admission standard argument.Harder to do in the Pac where admission standards exist. That's just the truth, too.

The best team won in 2017, I repeat the BEST team won in 2017. If you think UCF was the national champion I have some oceanfront property for you in Boulder. I guess we’ll never know since the game didn’t happen but I can 1,000,000% assure you that UCF had 0% chance to win the CFP last year. No chance. I’m so sick of this discussion, somebody schedule the two for ****s sake. I can’t fathom anyone truthfully believes UCF can beat Bama or Clemson.
It's a silly thing to say, "schedule the two", when the games won't happen for 5 or more years due to the nature of scheduling in college football. UCF absolutely could have beaten Clemson last year. That Clemson team had issues for whatever reason despite their talent. For the record, there was no national champion last year, and there never has been, and it doesn't matter what the result would have been because the game didn't get played. The best team won in 2017, I repeat the BEST team won in 2017. They Lost their DC and a couple analysts.People sure **** on UW for not being physical, what exactly is Georgia's excuse?
It's the truth though. I'd be willing to bet that most of the Big Ten and Pac 12 can't even bother recruiting half the kids that play in the SEC due to academics. I'm a big proponent for setting a minimum academic standard for all FBS schools. I don't think it's some crazy notion to say that certain schools and in large part conferences are playing at a deficit when it comes to academics requirements. After the media has made excuses for ND, I am tired of the admission standard argument.

Random question, has there been a single word during the broadcast mentioning MT taking the CU job?
I'll just tell you, certain conferences aren't going to be in favor of putting conference champs in automatically, and most fans aren't in favor of that either. You go to 8, you take the top 8. No auto bids, no G-5 fliers.ucf would almost certainly get rolled in an expanded 8 team playoff. but, that doesn't mean they shouldn't have a slot.
here's the deal for me... the p5 conference champions all should get an autobid. if you have an undefeated g5 team that rises up like that, then give them a slot too. and, drop in a couple more p5 teams who are deserving and you have a legit playoff.
NCAA doesn't recognize the CFP or hand out an actual title for any ranking system. Just recognizes claims. For the record, Alabama won the national championship last year. Look it up. It’s in the record books. For the record.
Someone said 3x I believe?yes, they mentioned it earlier.
The broadcast had it right. Personal Foul Late Hit. The P12 officials couldn’t get it right to save their lives. That was a cheap shot but didn't look like targeting at all.
This is maybe the one topic on this board that might garner 100% agreement.Clean the PAC12 swamp. Refs commish, everyone.
Maybe, but I don't care. After losing 7 straight I didn't think, well at least we have slightly better academic standards. Football players are part of the marketing department of a university, not the general student body, they should play by different rules. I don't care what the SAT score of our running back was, I care about how often he is in the endzone. It's the truth though. I was asked not to return to Texas Tech after my freshman year, haha.Did anyone see the video of Bevo going for Uga on the Sugar Bowl sidelines? Yikes!
As a Texas Tech alum (and a Buff fan), I have to say Go Dawgs!
I don’t know about the other SEC schools, but Georgia’s admission standards compare pretty favorably with most of the PAC-12 schools, Ave GPA 3.9, SAT 1280. How far below that standard the school is willing to accept for athletes may be different, but at CU I don’t think you can blame poor recruiting on admission standards. It's the truth though. My issue is that the NCAA measures schools on athletes’ “progress toward degree.”. Staying on track toward a degree is much easier in some schools than others because some schools offer less stringent degree programs than others offer. Not to mention the culture in some schools. Can you imagine a professor at ‘bama flunking a star player, for instance? So I don’t think it is a fair measure on the NCAA’s part.I don’t know about the other SEC schools, but Georgia’s admission standards compare pretty favorably with most of the PAC-12 schools, Ave GPA 3.9, SAT 1280.
