Official ****braska Hate Thread

You think you dislike the Huskers and huskier fans?! Try living in the state for all your life, and we’re forced to watch the games, like it was the Jonestown Cult. I have never been a Husker fan, and it took me a long time to come to appreciate the Buffs (part of that cult mentality got me in that I was indifferent about CU for so long). Once the Buffs went to the PAC 12, my ears perked up, since I would love to see a nearby school pound on the AZ schools as well as USC and UCLA...once I got invested in CU football, it became a full-blown obsession! When I got to spend a calendar month in CO during the birth of my daughter and subsequent adoption process, I knew there was no going back! It’s great because not only do I irk any huskier fan I’m related to, but some of my wife’s cousins are CSU alum. So it will be great for the first two games next season. My daughter (now two years old) is also a HUGE Buffs fan, and when asked “What do Buffaloes do?” She replies “Win!!”

I don’t think I could be a traitor when I wasn’t really a fan to begin with? I never bought into the blind faith, born in Nebraska, makes one a Husker fan by default frame of mind.

There are plenty of husker fans abroad that can fill the near 38 year vacancy of my resident fandom. I’m sure Memorial Stadium and Lincoln will go on!

It would have been soo easy for me to be only an Oklahoma fan since I was born in that state but I chose not to. I still do get some grief from the OU fans in my family once in awhile but they're okay with that because it means we don't like Nebraska too!

You should ask the Corn Pope aka Tom Osborne how high you should jump while the state propaganda music "No Other Place Like Nebraska" plays. It's a shame that those Secret Corn Police fellas will make sure you wear red everyday! CU is coming to liberate Nebraska from those Corn scum!

I love that I live in a country where people are free to express an opinion.

I hate that I live in a country where anyone would base her/his political and social philosophies on tribal identity of where her/his ancestors came from.

The dream does remain alive with many of us, I think most of us, that one day we'll all just be Americans and we'll judge one another solely on the content of our character.

I gotta tell ya with csewe followed by knu on the schedule is there anything more disturbing for a Buffs fan during an off-season? For f*cks sake this sh!t is killing me and its February. I sincerely hope every passer by in the halls Mac roams is in is freaking ear all day, every day!

Take solace in the fact that the fuskers fans are again setting themselves up another glorious fall. They have convinced themselves that Frost will almost instantly return them to the top of the rankings and soon after to national championships, they are already planning to load up their red polyester wardrobes in their red motorhomes and invade some city.

When he fails to meet their expectations and they get tired of going to the Pork and Beans Bowl and the Riverboat Casino Bowl they will turn on him as well and start seeking the next link to the past to fulfill their fantasies of greatness.

This one is my favorite. Not arguing that Nebraska football hasn’t been nationally relevant in a long time, but the logic behind how one game single handily destroys an entire football program is hilarious.

Hilarious, yes. It’s hilarious that Nebraska football has never been the same since that day. Never. Deny it all you want.

Oh, and it will never be as good as they were November 22, 2001, either. Never.

Not being the team it once was has to do with coaching. It has nothing to do with Colorado football.
