These are all candidates for 🌶️🌽 sites, or I’m taking a stab at flaming hot corn nuts sites, in truckstop/nub vernacular.

What are Purdue's chances this weekend?? It looks like it has been a rough go for Ryan Walters, but the fact that it's almost October and will be Nebraska's first road game makes me wonder if Nebraska will struggle out the gate, especially since the nubs were shaken, subjected, and demoralized by their first Frost of the season last weekend.

I think Nebraska win easily. Purdue is BAD

Walters likely will not make it past this offseason. That is a BAAAAD team top to bottom. This is hard for me to say given I know Ryan and coached Ryan, but sometimes coaches were not meant to be head coaches. That said, this may be one of two games they might have a shot in the rest of the season.

Any resistance to hosting a Friday night game will last about as long as it takes the Fox or ESPN lawyers to draft a letter reminding the conference and the school involved of the provisions of the media contract and the penalties involved in not complying.

I don't know him so I'll take your word for it.

At the same time basing an evaluation of a coach on his record at Purdue is a harsh standard.

I don't know that Nick Sabin or Urban Meyer could win there. They simply don't have any of the things necessary to compete with the top schools in the conference.

He probably does get fired, losing programs do that to make the boosters happy. If he can get some coaching rehab as a coordinator someplace and then maybe get a G5 head job he may earn his way back into the loop for P4 jobs.

Meanwhile it won't matter who they hre to replace him, in 3-5 years he will be fired as well and the cycle will repeat.

He is an excellent DC though so he will land somewhere on his feet and be just fine. And if he is a career long, elite DC, he can hang his hat on that.

Jeff Brohm was winning, at least for Purdue standards, while he was there. It is possible. Saban and Urban Meyer would absolutely have them winning there.

Yeah, this is just another example of the Nubs forgetting themselves. This isn't 1995.

Some coaches have done better than others but you hit the key with "Purdue standards." Unless they tapped into some resources that so far have not shown themselves even Saban and Meyer would not have the same kinds of success they had other places.

As long as Dr. Phil and his clown show was calling the shots I felt the same way about CU. We may have found some coach who could have some level of success but it was never going to be sustained and never reach the highest levels because what was needed to do so wasn't going to happen.

With Todd Saliman in the President's office I have much more confidence that the standards in many areas including athletics are going to be set higher than they have been.

In Purdue's situation I don't know that even a change in university administration would raise their ceiling to be competitive in the B1G.

Purdue seems to do only be able to win over half its games when it has an OC Head Coach who is really good. Tiller and Brohm. Not sure if anyone else has been able to win more than he loses there in my lifetime.

We are in a way better position than Purdue, but we need their Revenue
