He was advocating that they accept reality and lower expectations.
You'd think they would look back at Pelini, how he won at least 9 games every year for his 7 years there, and would self-reflect that maybe they shouldn't have made him miserable and run him out of town for it. But 90+% of them still believe they were in the right and wouldn't change a thing if they had it to do over again.

They're the worst fans in the country.

"Solich's 58 wins during his first six seasons as Nebraska's head coach exceeded those of his predecessors, Bob Devaney (53 wins) and Osborne (55 wins), both of whom are in the College Football Hall of Fame.[2]"

I haven't watched a down of UCLA football this season. Why is their QB almost always a Neuheisalesque douchebag?
That tweet makes it sound like UCLA stole the game late by this weird "off the knee" interception.
Reality is that UCLA totally dominated the Nubs all game, in Lincoln.
All three of Nebraska's touchdowns were helped by timely Personal Fouls (15 yards, automatic first down) calls. One for a player taunting after a tackle, where he stepped over a player on the ground (dumb) and one where TV could not find a foul. The D-player pulled an O-player off the pile. Personal Foul at 4th and goal?

A late desperation drive above where they had to still go 40 yards, with a ****ty QB and no offensive threats, with no timeouts and 29 seconds on the clock, looking at 3rd and 15 was the situation. And the ball was just thrown up for grabs.

Translating through Big Red glasses: UCLA was a dirty team and the mighty Huskers fought valiantly to almost overcome the disgusting approach to football the Bruins played and the refs mostly allowed. #MoralVictory

That may be but it also illustrates the big difference between fusker fans and most college football fans, and part of what makes them so insufferable.

Most fanbases have a core of fans who are emotionally attached to the team, they emotionally rize and fall with the team success, they spend time, energy, and money as an expression of their affiliation. They say "we" in talking about the team because they feel this attachment.

Nebraska fans go far beyond that. They don't see themselves as fans "of the team," they see themselves as an actual tangible part "of our team." In their minds they are watching a football game, they are a involved with and influencing the action.

They have a sense that the players and the coaches have an obligation to them, not because they are fans, but because they are an element of the team.

The post in question is an expression of their belief that if the team loses it isn't a bunch of players and coaches losing, it is them personally, they didn't do something well enough.

There are some other fan bases that approach this kind of bound identity but none to the same extent and fusker fans.
