Official Buffs vs. Wazzu Game Thread

Apparently Wazzu's DBs can make contact with our receivers more than 5 yds down the field and when the ball's in the air ... good to know.

No such rule in college. However it was clearly pass interference and should have been called as such.
So DBs can chuck guys 15 yards down the field if the ball isn't in the air?

If it's PI you're trying to call, the ball is not close to being catchable.

Sefo did everything he could there. Three perfect passes. Drop, drop, missed call, missed field goal

We have got to get a pass rush. We get one shot at him and he's hurt, hit the damn guy.

Oregon down by 4, down by four with under a minute.

Hard to tell if it's catchable when the WR is being held. Ball was in the air and the WR was being held. Easy call. PI or holding in the DB. Take your pick.

No, college just puts "illegal contact" under the umbrella of PI. I think that's also why any PI within 15 yards of the line of scrimmage is a spot foul + automatic first down, rather than a 15 yard penalty.

You could have absolutely called pass interference there because the pass was made uncatchable by the defender interfering with the receiver's route.

Both teams have wasted opportunities here. Gonna be a complete dog fight to win. Might come down to who makes the best adjustments.
