Official CU vs Delaware Game Thread

Obviously win first. Ryan Staub is the only reason you win this walking away. But you totally blew that opportunity to evaluate Juju Lewis.
And then you wouldn't have had the time to sew Staub shine. Which it looks like he deserves. He ain't some scrub, he knows the playbook and the playstyle well considering this is his 3rd year on the team.

Juju is still a try frosh. It would be very surprising if he came in game 2 and balled out. He is still learning. He will get his playing time, and very well may still get his chance this season. But salter ain't it.

Also…as for the o line…the lack of commitment to the run, and the absolute lack of scheme and motion also makes them look bad.

Even if you’re outmanned, when you know the offense isn’t going to make you move your eyes, it’s pretty good damned easy to stop the run

Salter and juju look defeated.
No, Salter looked overmatched. I liked what I saw at Liberty but he had a team around him that was one of the most talented in that conference. He hasn't adjusted his game to the step up in competition with GT and now he doesn't have confidence. Throws when he should run, scrambles when he should throw it away. doesn't have control of his own game and the team isn't confident in him.

Juju looks like a 17 year old freshman getting his first live action in college football. He knows that he didn't play how he is capable of playing. He's going to be fine but it will take some time and there will be some rough spots. He's not getting two years on the bench hoping to get some garbage time. He knows that as the season goes on he will continue to get more chances.

He said he had a plan for the QBs but then basically said he had no plan.

What asked who will start and play next, CP said "I have a plan, I have always had a plan. I see it in practice everyday. I am not going to say right now, but 'I have a dream Staub"

He called him Martin Luther Staub saying he had a dream. He kissed him and said he has a plan going forward but he doesn't want to divulge it at this point.
We’re so ****ed

I feel terrible le for Juju. He was set up to fail by Shurmur. He was not afforded the opportunity to throw the ball down field.

Staub was only throwing downfield for his first three series. After that point, Staub was mid at best - once again, Shurmur was calling bubble screens for Staub and the offense sive movement stalled.

This was not about Staub (he made the most of his throws) this was Shurmur limiting Juju. You cannot accurately compare based on the offense calls and limitations placed on Juju by Shurmur. And the slap in Juju's face to bring him in to hand the ball off when the game was over in the last minute.

What a 💩 show by the coaches.this will absolutely divide the locker room, the players know what plays were called for who. CP better hope Juju doesn't bounce immediately. Juju is the best QB in that room. F'ing Shurmur!!!
