That sucks balls so much and is so obvious after watching him for years and years. I have actually never seen him call a smooth and brilliant game ever. Always conservative and clunky and honestly not that fun to watch
That’s frightening because it’s apparent Salter can’t run the plays that are called for him.
The Robert Livingston god status narrative needs to die right now. I get there are some personnel issues but his gameplan and calls are mediocre at best right now

Agree. But our lack of skill at LB is a killer. Too bad we struck out on all those portal LBs.
He has been nothing more than mid at best through two games. And the adjustments aren’t even there. That was the one thing we could bank on last year.
TBH calling it mid is probably generous.

I could see Staub being an overnight sensation, and lifting the team in terms of confidence, morale. maybe if the O is great, theD won't feel so pressed and can regroup and build like last year. what Staub did today wasn't a fluke

CP said after the game that he knows who will start Friday, but isn't saying. they're reporting it as him saying he has a plan.
the big concern has to be making JuJu comfortable with how things unfold. lots of schools are going to throw offers at him.

I think the running game is 100% on Shurmur. Not so sure it's Shurmur in the passing game. Aside from the 20 WR screens, it was clear today that Staub can see a WR down field. Salter Cannot and JuJu is 17 and had two meaningful series.

Clunky is a great way to describe. Just an odd sequencing style really
they are obviously connected. if there's no threat of a downfield passing game, the defense can load up on the run.

I’m not smart enough to articulate why but I remember broncos analysts I trust being incredibly frustrated with his particular style of zone running scheme. Think it had a lot to do with running out of the shotgun
You feel it is a Livingston issue?
I saw Hodge giving up over 100 yards by himself and missing 6 tackles (and that was my count, could be more). Then, Livingston is hamstrung by CP's buddy Hart who cannot coach or recruit. Holes at CB and LB are killing this team. They do not have much talent at those positions (particularly LB).
It was up the middle everytime, until the 4th quarter when they went outside with misdirection.

The Delaware coach also said the starter was essentially a coin flip going into game one.
I don’t think playing their backup was a net positive or negative.

The LBs are talented, but they have zero physicality. They refuse to put their nose in there.
