I wish I had called that OC would be an extreme regression from last year. The offense is a shell of last year's offense. Staub is serviceable if the D can get a stop but he isn't going to overcome bad play calling putting him in 3rd and 8.
 
If Staub was the guy, why wasn’t he starting week one? I do not understand how they could bungle the qb situation so badly. I don’t know if I’ve seen a more head scratching strategy that forces a controversy through game four.

They can't run the ball and it isn't talent, it's scheme. Because they can't run the ball defenses can attack the passer and kill the passing game. And the passing scheme is ridiculous with either chuck it up deep and lousy bubble screens that everyone knows are coming.
 
what a **** show.

it ain't all on staub. frtiz and houston did the right thing-- don't let the 3rd string qb beat you--- defense on the field too long. DBs need a ton of work. I think we still win enough to bowl. middle team in a middle conference with a middle schedule.

We have three coaches with legitimate résumé’s. Shurmer, he’s obviously bad. Jason Phillips is solid, although this game looks bad. And Livingston who seemed like a brilliant hire last year. Now Livingston is looking bad. So we have one good coach.

There is no SS caliber QB on this years team. Nor is there a Travis. it always worried me what the team would look like after all these kids that DS knew for a decade and followed him were gone. I am sadly not all that surprised by what I am seeing.

To salvage the season they have to find something…anything… that works.

Shurmer isnt wearing pads and line up for the snap. We cant have all these dropped balls. The OL has do a better job. If we dont have the Jimmy and Joes in the trenches were limited.
