Actually a good way to go about it. They will go 1-3 in the non conference and then all they have to do is win 5 games at the minimum in that garbage division to go to a bowl game.

I'm very high on CSU for next season, though. Them beating both OSU and CU to go 3-1 in the non-conference isn't out of the question.
Oregon State should be pretty good next year actually.
Oregon State is going to be better than most of us think. They remind me a lot of CU in 2015. They are getting their sh!t together. They will beat some teams they shouldn't next year. We could be one of them.

They really want to sell out that stadium for the first game. I'm surprised they didn't kill the Mile High deal just to get CU at the new Hughes to guarantee a sellout.

Is there a assistant coaching position in sports that has so many quick turnarounds as D Coordinator?
DeRuyter is only one example, but I feel like there are numerous people who have been discussed with a history of turning D around in one year by more than 90+ spots in total defense. Might just be my filtering bias (those results are what it takes to be considered for the jump from G5 to P5) or Total D being an poor metric.
There can be a lot that plays into that. Maybe the offensive system changed to more ball control. Talent changes a lot (and can mature a lot) from year to year. So, yeah, there are likely a lot of big jumps. But with DeRuyter we have 4 examples. Maybe he's the luckiest guy in coaching with the situations he has walked into, but I think there's enough there to rule out coincidental favorable circumstances as the reason for his success. Dude's a damn good college DC.
CSU plays Oregon State after playing at Alabama the previous weekend. I like the Beavers' chances in Fort Collins.
