The MSU guy makes a lot more sense than Diaco. He is a Pac-10 guy, a former recruiting coordinator for UW and USC and a linebacker/DC currently. He also runs a 3-4.

But he isn't good at coaching defense..
Maybe, maybe not. He is clearly a good linebacker coach and his defense struggled in his first year switching to a different defense after losing quite a bit of NFL talent from the year before.

New to this board but intrigued about this hire...Longtime Buff fan. Has anyone mentioned Marion Hobby? He coached with Coach Mac at Duke when Mac was a DC there and was with Cutcliffe and Mac at Ole miss and UT Martin there is a LONG history there.

well that is classic... I wish we had a clue as to who we are close to, but at the same time it has worked out well for us not knowing hasnt it... either way, we need to make some moves and quickly

In all fairness, some of these are full staff turnovers, but really, what the heck are they waiting on? Right is better, but all of these above named schools are getting lesser candidates than the tortoise approach? That is hard to believe.
I'd settle for fast and right. This needs to get done.
So here's the straight scoop. CU was well down the path of hiring Sirmon. MSU found out about it and approached the Louisville DC, and hired him. Then Colorado changed it's mind re: Sirmon as some superstar decided to become the DC at Colorado and gratis at that. So Sirmon was informed the job was filled. He quickly called up Petrino at Louisville who was happy to have him.

Joe Tumpkin was cleared of all wrong doing and will be named the DC?
Is this real or just hopeful? What I had read was Sirmon to Louisville has been in the works for awhile. Sounds a bit like CU got played for a pay bump. I prefer your version though.

RG and HCMM run a tight ship. That is how. Nothing gets out of the champions center until like 3 days prior to an announcement.
