Official D coordinator search thread (DJ Eliot hired?)

I just had a twitter exchange with Howell-sounds like we got close with Sirmon and got played. He says we're not as close as we thought we were on a new DC, but have other options in mind. Doesn't know who yet.

That has held very true looking back at hires, none of us knew about Leavitt or even thought that direction, so hopefully its another pleasant surprise.
But are you saying we wont hear anything this week then?

He's been run off the board by the "board ninnies". Adam is saying, let it play out.

I'm going to guess that this guy was more valued by Petrino and the Louisville offensive machine than by HCMM's defensive mindset.

From my view, there's dozens of up-and-comers out there that have similar resume's as this guy had. Hire one.

Maybe so, but it's also not a great sign when it looks like we're missing out on guys at the top of the list. Whatever we think it Sirmon, Mac must have liked him and to strike out looks bad.
 
While it's never fun to get left at the altar, there's still a lot of good potential candidates out there.

Hopefully there's some level of urgency, though.. can't put it all on our boy Jeffcoat's back. Homeslice has to hit El Paso for a few days every January to do some recruitin' and this will really put a hurtin' on those plans if he has to go other places.
 
Looking further at the records and history of the msu and louisville DC trade, msu came out better and its not close. Maybe we should have targeted Grantham.

Nah, why hire him in December when they can save a months salary payment. This IS the school that said in the press release that MacIntyre is getting "modest" annual increases in his contract.

We could have had Diaco a month ago, too.

So, with those guys available, why were we dicking around with Sirmon?
