Buffs open Pac-12 play today in a road game that is definitely a swing game for where each team might finish in the conference standings.
Utah is 9-3, but has been very uneven and is in much the same position the Buffs are in. But they don't have a win like Xavier on their resume and come in with an RPI at a lowly #174 despite the good record.
Buffs, 10-3, have climbed to #59 in RPI and a road win would put them on the right side of the Tourney bubble if they selected tomorrow.
Of note: Kyle Kuzma, Utah's auto-double-double guy (who also leads them in assists) is still hobbled with an ankle injury and it's unlikely he is close to 100% even if he plays. That presents a major opportunity for the Buffs. Also helps that Utah's great home court crowd won't be as loud as usual since the students are still on break.
