agreed. However, for a guy who wants to play center, he probably should have been practicing his snaps.Lynott definitely struggled in previous play at center, but it is not that much of a stretch to think he could improve quite a bit between now and August, especially if he is finally close to 100%.
Wasn't he playing center in that game against ASU? Actually seemed like he began to play better and when he went out that offense went to complete ****.Lynott definitely struggled in previous play at center, but it is not that much of a stretch to think he could improve quite a bit between now and August, especially if he is finally close to 100%.

I'm just happy there IS competition. Just handing it to Pursell last year was weird. result was predictable.True. Pursell could still end up being the guy, but I see no reason that competition is a bad thing.
Forgot about JynesIt’s also the position. Tim is probably the only other C. Purcell is still young.
Trey Udoffia saw action in 18 of 24 games at cornerback as an underclassman at Colorado. His results at the position were mixed and the Buffaloes graduated both of their starting safeties, so Udoffia approached the new coaching staff with an idea this winter.
"When (defensive coordinator and safeties) coach (Tyson) Summers first got here, I said, 'Hey, I know that a lot of safeties left and it is an open position so I would love to move over,'" he recalled. "At first Coach Summers didn't say anything but then some safeties got hurt and he agreed to move me over and that's where I'm at now."
Udoffia's face lights up with excitement when talking about his new role. He views the position switch as permanent and head coach Mel Tucker endorsed the move earlier this week by saying, "safety is a good spot" for Udoffia.
I don't think it was too weird just for last year. Any other year it would have been an odd situation but when you only have a few P5 quality lineman, you need to just put the 5 best out their even if someone isn't at their best spot necessarily. If there was competition for C and Lynott won, then who's taking over for Lynott? Just didn't have the bodies.I'm just happy there IS competition. I'm content to just naively conclude that they just sucked at recruiting (linemen), without knowing the details, and move on. Cuz it's true.Still shaking my damn head over the recruiting failures on both sides of the line of scrimmage during the Macintyre era. Us amateurs on this board could see what were glaring mistakes and oversights, year after year. What on earth were they thinking? Or were they just that inept?
caught my eye as well. Only 5 practices in. Reading the tea leaves, I think both possibilities are true. But again, just 5 practices. Let's see who is running with the 1s after 10.Interesting to hear Smith and Broussard were working with the 1s today at RB. My guess is everyone is getting a "fair" shot, but maybe no one is really separating either.
I'm interested to hear what their weights are up to. At 6', Deion Smith needs to be at least 200lbs.Interesting to hear Smith and Broussard were working with the 1s today at RB. My guess is everyone is getting a "fair" shot, but maybe no one is really separating either.

They really need Johnson to be here in the summer.Yikes about the d-line.
I like how MT said they have a rep chart and you move up or down depending on your play. No favorites here, best players play.Interesting to hear Smith and Broussard were working with the 1s today at RB. My guess is everyone is getting a "fair" shot, but maybe no one is really separating either.
Nothing new there, really.Yikes about the d-line.
6 new ones coming in.They need to find some then, numbers wise, that's crazy thin.

There are fewer bodies right now than in recent years but when many of those bodies couldn't play at this level it doesn't really mean we are thinner.
We do need some guys to show up ready to play, at least as solid depth guys, this summer.
