Yeah that's possible. I am saying how dumb it was of him to decline the move to linebacker in past seasons. I will say that linebacker is a good place on defense to let athleticism and instincts shine without knowing the full extent of the playbook (as long as he doesn't need to call the plays obviously) contrary to what Mac said around here the last couple of years.Too late to chance sides imo
I don't think compromise is probably the correct word, I do agree with sentiment that this is a positive move.Feels like the coaches and BB came to a compromise, which allowed the needed position change (team) while keeping BB on offense (player). Glad this is resolved.

What QB’s are offered a chance to play MLB
I think the Beau news is positive all around. Should be more useful to us there, still will be a special teams weapon, shows coaches have some confidence in the RB position, and maybe most importantly the coaches were able to convince a kid that clearly did not want to change positions to do so in less than 6 practices.
Why would any kid take a RS his senior year? At that point, push them out of the program.Any chance that either Bish or Jones (or both) redshirt this year. Aren't they both seniors with a redshirt available. This move gives us 3 senior TE and only 2 scholarship TE after this season.

Well, then I am glad he moved to TE and did not go Tonya Harding on anybody. My guess is he was flat out told he wouldn't play RB unless there was some massive injuries. This is right around the time you see guys moving positions, or deciding to transfer.
He's got some athleticism, so this will probably work out for both sides.
Donovan Lee redshirted in 2017 and then played a total of 5 plays last year. The hellWhy would any kid take a RS his senior year? At that point, push them out of the program.
Didn’t Ento RS in 2017 too and then was basically a non factor last year?Donovan Lee redshirted 2017 and then played a total of 5 plays last year. The hell
I believe so. So, so dumbDidn’t Ento RS in 2017 too and then was basically a non factor last year?

He and Arias both should have seen more time on offense though. Ento has huge physical gifts, but we all know how much MM liked to use his subs.Didn’t Ento RS in 2017 too and then was basically a non factor last year?
I think Beau Bisharrat would have been an effective fullback in an offense that used the fb as a running threat on traps and draws, and not just as a sledgehammer, but nobody has run a two back offense like that in at least 25 years. I’m not sure why the previous staff couldnt have put bush on the field as an h back and simply called It something else just to get him on the field more.
Redshirting upperclassmen in any scenario outside of injury is usually pretty dumb.

Right. If a guy cannot play, the extra year does not help.
The coaches probably realize they will be young at TE next year, but potentially more talented if recruiting breaks right.

Given the right circumstances there is nothing wrong with it.
For example: Darrion Jones with loads of athletic talent is now buried as the 3rd senior TE and he might even be behind Russell and Poplawski on the depth chart. But he is a specialist as a pass-catching threat at TE. He has had little to no coaching or experience with our past staff who never used the position in a game and probably never spent much time in practice with them either.
Give him an extra year with the current staff and maybe he can be an effective downfield/redzone threat for us next year. Or we can have 2 scholarship TE's next year and hope both of them stay healthy (not realistic considering past history) or rely on redshirt freshman or hope for another JuCo transfer.
Yes. He’s a specialist at not being able to catch balls below his waist or ones where he has to twist his hips. Low effort player. Not a fit.Given the right circumstances there is nothing wrong with it.

Let's see what he shows in spring practice before giving up on the young man shall we. This will be his first time with decent coaching, hopefully good coaching. Maybe we all will see a glimmer of hope, wouldn't that be great. Agree though with moving players on.Yes. Coaching doesn't change the fact that he's a stiff. Literally and figuratively. The athleticism is lacking aside from being big and only being able to run in a straight line.Let's see what he shows in spring practice before giving up on the young man shall we.
