Other Games 10/29 - 11/2 Buffs bye week.

I was in Columbia for game day in the 90s. It was back when the SEC generally sucked, and USC was generally bad. CU was a perennial top 10, so I was a little dismissive of what I might encounter.

I was blown away by the commitment and energy in town for game day.

I haven’t been shy regarding my general SEC disdain. But when they say “it just means more” I think of that weekend in South Carolina, and I can’t really disagree.

I’ve seen southern belle goddesses go full meltdown when they watch their team lose.

An SEC woman witnessing a loss is the scariest thing you can be around.

Gundy has always been really stoic on the sidelines. I think he's just falling on his sword this year after all his comments about how they can't compete in NIL.

And, respect to the guy, Pokes were a top 15-20 program for 15-20 years with 3 star guys from Texas and OK kids not recruited by OU. and a lot of great run pass balance schemes in the "air raid" Big XII.

Now, the buy-in, coach em up kids method......I can see this world being a turnoff.

That said: the 2024 nowhereseville of Ollie Gordon is interesting to me.

edit: Gundy's qb recruiting situation has been bad for a while. for whatever reason. he's had a couple 4 stars guys who were BAD at this level.

He looks like he's losing that program to me.
Lot of coaches who have been highly successful struggling to function in a whole new world in college football. What worked very well 5-10 years ago isn't working now and some of these guys can't or won't adapt.

I don't like BYU much but I find Kilani Sitake easy to pull for. I like the way he coaches, I like the way he gambles old school in situation not just basic analytics stuff everyone does these days instead of playing field position. I saw BYU lose a couple close games, they won at Arkansas..... last year and kept thinking they look better than their record.

Kasen Weisman an old CU QB about to enter the game for an injured starter for florida atlantic
