Other Games 11/19 - 11/23

Went to a couple games at Falcon Stadium when my brother was a cadet when it was ridiculously cold and windy. Remember spending all my money on hot chocolate and hanging out under the temporary stands they had set up on the east side because it was out of the wind.

Don't think those games were anything close to Laramie tonight.
The flags on the goalposts aren't really moving tonight. Unusual for Laramie.

No wind and plenty of alcohol make dealing with cold a hell of a lot easier.

LOL...using that Husker transfer QB to run the ball on 4th down. #BoboBall

WYO kicker boots that FG and the Cowboys probably keeps to boot.

Graphic showed that CSU has lost 11 straight rivalry games. Bye bye Bobo I guess.

If they fire Bobo, they will have to go super cheap on the next HC.
It’s almost to the point where the cost benefit of keeping him from a financial standpoint don’t make sense either.

I know we were having similar conversations when Hawkins was here. When does the lost revenue from attendance outweigh the buyout and new hc salary?

12 straight losses to their rivals in AFA, CU, and CSU. I don't think money is going to be as big of a factor this time around compared to the end of last year.

The coldest I've ever been was at the Kansas State game at Folsom in '96. Temp at kickoff was 12 degrees. I was wearing several layers of thermal underwear and other clothes, jackets etc. Also was wearing LL Bean insulated mukluks over at least two layers of heavy ski socks. Guess which parts of my body started getting numb and made me have to leave after the third quarter.

I was at that game too. I believe that was the year that they stopped selling beer. My buddy and I brought a thermos of Dewar’s and drank the entire thing just for warmth. I don’t remember much else.

Don’t forget WYO, they might hate them more than us.

This is the whole problem for CSU and a lot of other G5 schools now. Football simply doesn't make financial sense.

I don't know what it is for the current year but a couple of years back when I looked they were subsidizing football by about $15 million a year (plus about the same for the rest of the sports.)

Keep Bobo and they sell less tickets and get less donations but fire him and they probably don't make up that cost.

The "bump" from the new stadium is now gone and they don't have much to keep the fans interested in the program. They aren't getting the magic invitation to a P5 conference and the MWC isn't going to find some giant pot of money either.

Fan sentiment is strong but unless some fans come up with a big chunk of cash money will be a factor. Can't spend what you don't have.

They are like the kid who has spent his entire life getting beat up. They hate just about everyone.

Wyoming bothers them a lot more though. They know that CU has big advantages over them. Lose to CU and they can justify it in their minds and move on. They want to beat us because they think it will legitimize them, give them some status.

Wyoming doesn't have more resources, doesn't have more money, doesn't have the national awareness of a CU. CSU hopes to beat us, they believe they should be able to beat Wyoming. When they can't it just makes them feel even more like losers.

Fields fumbles going in for their second TD. Will be PSU ball, but Ohio State looks on a completely different level. Should still be a blowout today

This year's RMS summed up my feelings on CSU-We're so far ahead of them we can mail in a half and still win by 3 touchdowns. They're not a rival. I don't give a **** about them 51 weeks a year.

Don't count out Clemson. That clunker in Chapel Hill looks like a total outlier now. Give me the Pac 12 champ in this CFP and Alabama out of it and it should be a great Saturday of football on 12/29.

I'm planning on watching that CSU-Wyoming game and it's on ESPN2 on Friday night so perfect time to watch that rivalry.

Bobo has never beaten CU, only one win each against AFA & Wyoming. Maybe Bobo's last stand if Pat Stryker is ready for a change and willing to open her purse again?
FIFY! Let's go Rammin'! Or was that "Lettuce go ramen"???

Wasn't that the week that Frank Murphy or whatever his name was ran his mouth about taking a kickoff to the house?

I was at that KSU, but it wasn't even close to Fuskers game which ended in a 20-20 tie after Biekert ran back a blocked extra point try and the Buffs blocked a last chance FG try. ZERO at kick-off and with wind chill, the temp got below zero real quickly and stayed there after the sun went down.
