Other Games 11/19 - 11/23

It does beg the question whether they are actually among the top 10-12 programs in the country, though. It’s a true “deserving” vs “best” debate

Indiana doesn't deserve to be in the playoff. A bunch of wins against crap teams and getting blown out by the only good team you play isn't a resume that should be honored, no matter what conference you play in.

IDK, I might take Indiana's resume against at least half the teams that will be on or near the bubble.

Miami's slew of close wins and a worse loss isn't clearly better; SMU's resume isn't better than Indiana; the ACC runner up won't have a better resume than Indiana

Notre Dame's loss is way worse, and their best win would be Army?

BYU's loss is worse, but they do have the SMU win, the rest of their wins are on par with Indiana's.

Tennessee's got the big win over Bama, lost to Georgia and Arky and their second best win is probably over Florida. Maybe a coin flip on those resumes, but Indiana's won with way more style points.

Ole Miss has to be punished for 1 bad loss (KY) and one loss to a middling team (LSU) more than Indiana for 1 blowout against the #2 team. If you're assuming Indiana wouldn't have got the win over Georgia like Ole Miss did, I think you have to look at Ole Miss' record and say they would have dropped 1 or 2 of the last 3 games that Indiana played.

Bama, Texas, Georgia I'll grant you, but not by a light year or anything.

Give us one upset over a 2-loss SEC team, and I think Indiana is very safely in.

I have a feeling the Buckeyes pull away in the second half.

I feel like IU is a lot like us last year. Very good skill position players but struggling to compete against the best teams along the lines. Probably a little better than we were in that regard, but similar story.

Edit: posted before I noticed the second half started. Already pulling away.
They haven't had to play anybody better than 6-5 until today.

I've seen nothing from them in this game that makes me think they belong in the playoff.

Kinda petty of Ohio State to score there, lol.

Henderson slid down to stop Indiana from getting the ball back, and they snuck it in anyway.

I think there's going to start being some talk about the ACC getting two spots.

The only way this is remotely possible is if Miami and SMU win out and SMU wins the CCG but even with that I don't think Miami stays in the top 11/12. Nor should they. Worst case for ACC would be Miami losing to Syracuse next week (very possible), Clemson loses to South Carolina (likely) and then Clemson wins the CCG. A 3-loss Clemson is likely the 5th-highest ranked conference champ in this scenario if Boise wins out.

I hate OSU, but I was rooting for them to win big. Prime is up for coach of year, so is Cignetti. If IU won, I’d have to concede that Cignetti would be front runner

You guys hear when they asked Matt Leinhart if he was going to watch his son who goes to SMU in the ACC Championship, and he just flatly said, "No"?

Wonder what that was about.

The one thing about the 12 team playoff is that we'll see who is deeper than whom. If the SEC gets 5 teams in and they all win at least one game, the rest of the nation will have to shut up. On the other hand, if they don't, the questions about them getting that much love will grow.
