That's the part I don't like. If you want to back up the kickoff, I won't bat an eye.
It does beg the question whether they are actually among the top 10-12 programs in the country, though. It’s a true “deserving” vs “best” debate

But it happened during the play. Can’t treat that different than other “during play” penalties.
Meh. The buffs went on to score and win the game easily. I really don’t get why everyone is still so riled up about this

For me, it's the principle not the outcome of the specific play.

Let's say your DL got a hurry and got a hit on the QB which forced a pick 6... and then you found out the TD was taken off the board because the DL stood over the QB with his arms crossed after the hit. I would hate that.
I just don't see how it's so important to take that out of the game when it's something players and fans enjoy that we're willing to change the result of scoring plays to address it.

Sure it can. It had no affect on the success of the play like every other penalty might.

Let’s flip it the other way. All during the play penalties get marked from result of play. TDs included. I vote for that.

These are JMU kids. Good folks. Not at this level of football.
TBH, their resume isn't a TON better, but it is better, even if they lost to Arky. More importantly, after today, the eye test most definitely favors Tennessee.
And that's after gaining 70 yards on their first drive.
I would be morally opposed to moving Georgia (UMass), Tennessee (UTEP) or Alabama (Bye after Mercer last week) above Indiana in the CFP ranks.
Edit: or Boise State. At least Wyoming is a conference opponent, but beating them is about as impressive as if you told me the team had its best Tuesday practice of the season.

I tend to agree, but at the same time I think Indiana should drop out of the top 12.
I think there's going to start being some talk about the ACC getting two spots.
I scored front row tickets to VT MBB at Wake once. Wife and I sit down wearing our finest orange and maroon.

Again, no. A holding call at the LOS that allows an 80 yard TD run or pass should be marked from the spot of the penalty because it probably had a material impact on the success of the play.
Fine to the university. No impact on the play. Done.

I remember when we were trying to convince ourselves that the Pac 12 getting the CW as a media partner was going to be a big win because they own so many local tv stations or something
They're just getting started as a sports broadcaster. Give it a few years and it will be no different than watching a game on NBC.
