This is everything they said Coach Prime would be at this level, yet nobody ever questioned Bill.
Do we think they’ll be questioning Bill with the fervor they questioned HCP?This is everything they said Coach Prime would be at this level, yet nobody ever questioned Bill.
He fired everyone. Media, recruiting, S&C, all the position coaches and coordinators and analysts but 1, before bringing a few analysts back in the spring when they realized they needed warm bodies to run the organization. He fired a bunch of players and brought in 70? transfers. This is all on BB, the whole thing top to bottom is his doing.Do we think they’ll be questioning Bill with the fervor they questioned HCP?
UNC was a bowl team last year for **** sake.
The problem for Iamaleava is simple: He sucks(for now). He didn't show any improvement to hit open receivers, with another half dozen horrible overthrows to wide open guys, the same thing Tennessee fans lamented all year last season.I think with NIL and the transfer portal players have to be smarter about managing their careers (their family's also). Nico Iamaleava is a case in point. 5 star player out of HS who is obviously talented but needs some development. He plays at Tennessee under Josh Heupel who is a very good QB developer, then because his father wants to renegotiate his NIL deal to a supposed $4.5 Million a year. Tennessee told him to take a hike and he ended up at UCLA with an NIL deal smaller than what he was getting at Tennessee. Now we will see how it works out but I suspect the UCLA is not going to develop him the way Tennessee would have. Sometimes there can be too much short term focus instead of evaluating what is the best fit for your goals.
Now it is a long season and maybe it will work out for him. I suspect not though.
I never understood the insane hype. Does he have the physical tools? Definitely. Can he put it all together? Remains to be seen. His stats last season were VERY pedestrianThe problem for Iamaleava is simple: He sucks(for now). He's the opposite of a natural, so far. Meanwhile Aguilar looked completely in command vs Syracuse. Sure UCLA sucks, but he had wide open guys and absolutely botched it.I never understood the insane hype. Does he have the physical tools? Definitely. Can he put it all together? Remains to be seen. This aged well.I've seen enough in the first 3 minutes
Belichick = Coach of the Year
TCU game looking like a probable loss for the Buffs unless things drastically change.
That was a big part of it. It could be upstairs because they don't know what the hell they are doing or are just flat slow.NC looks slow
He also said he let his players buy into the Prime Hype, thinking it would fire them up and it backfired. This time around he said he specifically avoided it. Also said he felt his team was totally disrespected coming in…and thusRandom thought on this game-Dykes was dealing with this in Prime's first game at CU. New coach, entirely new team, and no tape. They learned from that.
1) Colorado has talent. 2) Colorado is built for teams like TCU. 3) UNC MIGHT win 4 games.TCU game looking like a probable loss for the Buffs unless things drastically change.
It dominated last night after the game, with hardly a mention of TCU. It was Bill Belichick only. Which, depending on how you look at it, may piss the Frogs off even more. That one's gonna dominate sports talk programming tomorrow. Wow.
Good result for the Big 12. Needed it.
Both and Bill grew man boobs.I saw the ESPN morning show with Greenberg in the background when I got up. Graphic was a debate among the panelists about where Belichick or DeBoer had the worst week.
That's a good question, actually. DeBoer is under far more pressure but BB got absolutely smoked at home in a highly anticipated debut.I saw the ESPN morning show with Greenberg in the background when I got up. And yet they will still be firmly in the playoff discussionsThat's a good question, actually. DeBoer is under far more pressure but BB got absolutely smoked at home in a highly anticipated debut.
Looking at Bama's schedule and even though it was just week one, I think they could easily be a 7-5/8-4 team this year.
They’ll probably be ranked above FSUAnd yet they will still be firmly in the playoff discussions
He's an excellent football coach.I’m not really sure what to make of Kalen Deboer just yet. I had a really high opinion of his coaching acumen when he was hired, but I wonder if everyone jumped the gun a bit. He’s only had two prior stops as head coach, effectively one full season at Fresno State where he went 9-3 with a signature win against UCLA and then beat up on a bunch of MWC teams with losses at Hawaii, and Boise State. His two year run at Washington was great, but he had Penix both years who turned out to be a player in college and the NFL. Deboer was certainly less than a sure thing when hired.
Well, Bama has two weeks of pretty favorable matchups with Louisiana Monroe and Wisconsin, where they can right the ship. He's an excellent football coach.
The thing is, just about everyone hired by the top programs is an excellent football coach but most do not perform to expectations. So much of that job is about booster relations, staffing, and recruiting/ roster management.
I'm not so sure that Wisconsin is an easier opponent than FSU, who kicked their asses.Well, Bama has two weeks of pretty favorable matchups with Louisiana Monroe and Wisconsin, where they can right the ship.
Well, I think I’d feel better about having to face Wisconsin with one time CU verbal/SDSU transfer Danny O’Neil than Castellano at FSU.I'm not so sure that Wisconsin is an easier opponent than FSU, who kicked their asses.
Did not know O'Neil was at Wisconsin. He's not that level. At all. Perfect G5 QB, but he's gonna get destroyed there. What were both sides thinking?Well, I think I’d feel better about having to face Wisconsin with one time CU verbal/SDSU transfer Danny O’Neil than Castellano at FSU.
It's hard to say after just one week, but Wisconsin really struggled at home against Miami (OH). They just aren't remotely the kind of program they used to be. On the flip side, FSU looked big, fast and overwhelming with a scrappy and dynamic QB.I'm not so sure that Wisconsin is an easier opponent than FSU, who kicked their asses.
