Other Games 8/28-9/1

Really really good game. Enjoyed the hell out of that. Takeaway was Carson Beck. I think that's the best I've ever seen him play. Struck me as a bit of a game manager at UGA, and looked like a first round pick tonight.

North Carolina is fascinating for obvious reasons. TCU is pretty good, and we get them in about a month. Want to watch them. Keep hearing Josh Hoover is legit, but I didn't watch them because we didn't play them last year.
I went to the game with a high school friend that went to Miami. Was telling him how for the past few years I have been telling my wife (UGA alum) that Carson was not elite but could be a good game manager. We both agreed after the game he basically did not thing to win it but also did nothing to lose it. It was a much better way to use him.

Completely agree. His ceiling is probably Alex Smith, and Smith was a really good NFL QB for a number of years.

If he's got the players around him, which he does, not a damn thing wrong with being a game manager type. There was a dude named Tom Brady that did just that early in his career.

Have to wonder how long Belichick sticks with this. Dealing with college players who aren't fundamentally sound, who don't automatically respond like pros to his style of coaching.

Seeing things like bad snaps both in the shotgun and also on a punt. Seeing guys miss blocking assignments, receivers drop passes that are in their hands, etc. Don't know how long his ego will take it.

So 3rd and 3 from the TCU 45 with 1 minute left in the half, both teams with 3 timeouts, and you throw a 40 yard slot fade. Surely they've got a play dialed up for 4th and 3. A punt. They're down 10 at home and that was the sequence? That's gutless.

billy's 20 year old GF and spokesperson and spiritual advisor says you should all stop hating. he's got his. this college football thing is just something to kill time and make a little side cash. she also advises that if you all don't stop the negativity then she will have to turn the cattle prod on billy after the game, just to be sure he is still on board.

billy likes it.

Ol’ Bill has himself a pretty mediocre roster. Wonder how much his Asst HC girlfriend had to do with putting it together. He’s not built for the new CFB world.
