Other Games Week of 9/29-10/1

There are no excuses for Kansas State being top 25 and CU being last.
Find a coach who can coach at that level. He will recruit better here than KSU.
Just one example of competence that when combined with the glorious state of Colorado makes top 25 a low bar.

Some day I’d like to go on a barbecue trip to east Texas and take in a Stephen F Austin game in Nacogdoches. One of my wife’s gal buddies that we met in TX got an accounting degree from SFA. So many places, so little time….

I am watching the Utah-OSU game and I have seen several of Oregon State's games this year....two thoughts come to mind:

1. Where the hell was THIS Brian Lindgren when he was coordinating for us? The creativity of the plays and the fact that they practice some of the more unusual ones and use them to compensate for what the other team is doing in the game is mind blowing to me. It reminds me of the Old Boise State teams.

If Oregon State can look this competant and have a chance in games against the likes of USC there is no arguement to be made that smaller market teams with limited resources can't at least compete with hope. Washington State is doing the same thing. The train hasn't left the station for non-powerhouse programs...CU just seems to have forgotten that they were supposed to be going anywhere.

I’m not on record most likely, but I’ve never been a Brett Venables fan. Seeing Sonny destroy his defense though surprises me a ton. I did not see that coming.

do not pass go, CoachV on the hot seat!!!
It would be nice to see OU limp into the SEC like we did with the Pac.

Stanley was a kid who grew up wanting to be a Buff.

He didn't leave because somebody else lured him away, he left because he saw reasons to leave then looked for someplace to go.

Reasons to leave, or a reason?

Ridiculous call against Maryland against Michigan State.

Hit the guy shoulder to shoulder, was not a malicious hit that was going to cause damage, WR was touching the ball.

Cost Maryland a TD (or at least the ball inside the 5 at the end of the half.)

Total gift to Mel. A Maryland TD there ends the game.

The refs in the TCU Oklahoma game should be relegated to flag football.

Confirmed Neinas sighting in Waco!

OSU returned the opening KO in the 2H for a TD. Up 23-3 at Baylor.

I saw that highlight and the call was against #6 right? Did Maryland retain possession? Because that hit was after the pick anyway.

They awarded the ball back to Michigan State saying the penalty was prior to the INT and awarded Michigan State 15 yards from the original line of scrimmage.

The defender who intercepted brought the ball back to what looked like a TD but he touched out of bounds about the 2 or 3 yard line.

Result of the call Michigan State ball close to midfield instead of Maryland ball inside the 5. Huge turn in the game even though MSU didn't score.

Jayhawks also headed towards 5-0.

You can win anywhere, even in Kansas.

Right, but it's after the ball is tipped by the MSU receiver. What is the rule state, that if the hit is before the pick it's a penalty? Regardless, there was nothing wrong with the hit.
The call was made as "during the pass"

I'm just inferring that the rule is set up that who has possession of the ball at the time of the penalty matters, so it's not Maryland ball until the ball is caught and possessed.

If the catch by the DB was before the hit it could have been maryland ball 15 yards behind where the hit was made.

I agree that the hit was fine, watching it live you can kind of understand why the flag came out, the receiver is defenseless and 6 hits him high. On replay it's clearly shoulder to shoulder. It'd be nice if they could have reviewed the call on the hit.

Sorry if this has been discussed but 2 rushing yards for Wisconsin in front of an empty stadium. What the hell happened to that program?
