Could be the first year for a 2-loss team the way things are going. So yeah, as @CarolinaBuff said recently, any 1-loss P5 team is very much alive with many games left to be played.

What a disgusting display of enthusiasm by those Northwestern students! Rushing the field?!?!?!?!?!?Northwestern wins in OT3!
Isn't UGA the big winner today? Notre Dame is going to beat ranked NC State, they pound Florida, and TCU and Penn State both fall. Right now, the top two in the country are clearly in the SEC.
We've got a month of football left to play and it seems like one of those years when every team is flawed. And you've got teams like Wisconsin that played such a horrible schedule that there are plenty of 2-loss teams that would make it in over them if they have 1 loss at the end.I don't think we're there yet. Sure you can come up with a few scenario's where a 2-loss team is one of the top 4 teams at the end but it's still not likely at this point.
Right now, for sure. If the final third of the season plays out like the opening 2/3 did, most of us will think that the UGA/Bama SEC Championship is pretty much telling us who wins the national title. I'd keep my eye on the programs like Ohio State and Clemson that have a sick amount of talent and the coaches to go with it. They could be absolute juggernauts by the end of November. The top team is clearly in the SEC. The rest is muddled. Georgia has played exactly one good team.

Put Oklahoma on that list of teams with a ton of talent that could gel and be our national champion. Especially since they've got a QB with so much "it" factor.Clemson for sure. Ohio State needs another Oklahoma loss. The loss OU has doesn't look anywhere near as bad now as it does when it happened-Iowa State is clearly a Top 20 team. Don't think you can take OSU ahead of Oklahoma if they both finish at 12-1.
Me, too. I want out of the South basement more than I hate UO.As much as it may sicken me (and it does) I'm pulling for the Dux in this one.
I keep hearing alot of analysts say that if ND wins out to go 11-1 they are in the playoff no question. While that would likely be true, I don't think they would be in under this very plausible scenario:
- an undefeated SEC champ
- a 1-loss ACC champ Clemson
- a 1-loss Big 10 champ OSU
- a 1-loss Big 12 champ OU
who does ND beat out in this case, OU? Maybe but not likely given how OU thumped OSU in Columbus. And this isn't to mention if UGA (who beat ND) ends up with only 1 loss to Bama, and also a 1-loss Washington is sitting out there.
Granted there will be more upsets over the last month but I'm just no buying the ironclad statement that ND is guaranteed to be in if they win out.
Buffs can beat Utah.
I was very skeptical about whether Utah could have that many guys drafted and simply re-load for this season. I still like their defensive front, but they've got holes all over their roster. They sure can, utah's defense looks weak, especially against the run. Well, at least this game, haven't seen them much.

COY Matt Campbell's team has beaten two top 5 teams this month.
I'll be shocked if he's coaching at ISU in 2018.His stock is going to be sky high this off season. Which moneybag programs offer his agent a deal he can’t refuse?

I flipped back and forth between ISU-TCU and CSU-Air Force after the Buffs game.
The Clone game was one ugly game, but I was pretty happy with the result. If there's one old conference foe I can get behind, it's Iowa State. They were 1-56-2 lifetime against top 5 teams coming into this year. They're 2-0 in 2017.
The Air Force game was a thing of beauty for the Falcons. Their running game was unstoppable, especially Worthmann. On the other side, Nick Stevens is **** under pressure. Plus I'm not sure Bobo has ever beat AFA, which has to grind the gears of Rams fans. I wouldn't be surprised if they lose to Wyoming next week, too.
