Meh, what is their best win? Eastern Michigan? Northwestern?

Nice season, no doubt, but not playoff worthy.

That's probably why I started my pot with "I don't believe Western Michigan belongs in the playoff."

I just don't know why the Sun Belt, MAC, and CUSA even bother. At least an undefeated AAC or MWC team would get into the discussion.

They can bitch about it only being 4 teams, but the system is human voters choosing the 4 concensus best teams. It's not the BCS done by computers.
Completely agreed, but isn't there something fundamentally wrong with teams being able to play seasons without losing a single game and having zero chance to win a title?

EDIT: Limiting to 4 teams is the problem. I'm not sure if they'd be in the discussion at 8 teams either, though.

Because they're not playing for a national title. The are about 20 schools max who have a legit shot at a national title in a given year - there's more to play for than just a FBS title.

I don't believe Western Michigan belongs in the playoff..... but if you're one of 4 undefeated teams in the country and you have zero chance to make it to the 4 team playoff, you have a right to bitch about the system.
How many ranked teams have they played this year?

Until they open it to 8 teams, Those teams have to do it two years in a row basically.

Wake looks solid. The ACC is bringing the chaos today.

I'll say it here since I don't want to post this in one of the Buff threads: If you don't approach a game with an unranked opponent with the same attitude and intensity that you would a team that's higher ranked, then you risk a letdown. Here's hoping our favorite team realizes that tonight.

Banderas and Gerry are legit. I don't see anyone else from Nebraska's defense that looks next level. Rose-Ivey sometimes pops but he also whiffs a lot too.

6-3 Wake/5-4 Pitt and 2-7 Arizona are hardly comparable teams though.

Louisville going with no color on their uniforms. It just seems wrong. Maybe they'll be punished for it.

Bugeater fans are going to be disappointed when they realize Mike Riley is awesome at winning 8 or 9 games a year. that's who he is.

Nebraska - L
Colorado - W

Dat cool with you?:)

Remember 2000, when we were what, 2-9 heading into Lincoln? We took the lead with less than a minute to go against a pretty good fusker team, and then blew it with a stupid squib kick. I'm just saying that even teams with terrible records can beat good teams if you don't take them seriously (and we should have beat the ****ing nubs that year ).

Again, my post was started with "I don't think they belong in the playoff"

My point isn't they are one of the 4 best teams, my point is that they no matter what they do they have no way to prove that they are or aren't. They schedule two P5 teams in their non-con. By transitive power of football they beat Illinois and Northwestern (both on the road) which gives them wins over other P5 schools such as Duke, Iowa, Michigan State (twice), Indiana, Purdue, and Rutgers.

Again, I get why their resume is not top 4, let alone top 10, but why bother calling CUSA, MAC, and Sun Belt teams part of the FCS if there is not path to the championship for them?
