Houston already pounding on #5 Louisville. How much more shake up do we see in the top 10 this week. More opportunity for our Buffs to move up.
Lots of teams this weekend jockeying for bowl position. A bunch of teams with 4-5 wins hoping to reach 6 and at least get some kind of bowl game.
Friday game isn't much 4-6 UNLV hoping to win at #20 Boise.
Saturdays only has two top 25 match-ups outside of the Buffs as teams wind down the season and many get ready for their traditional rivals next week.
#23 Florida tries to stay in the top 25 against #16 LSU
#9 Oklahoma (8-2) visits #14 West Virginia (8-1) in what could be the game of the day. A WVU win should push the Buffs past OU in the standings.
Other interesting games with at least one ranked team
#11 Oklahoma State (8-2) goes to 5-4 TCU. Frogs are down this year but still have enough speed to pull off an upset. B12 hoping it doesn't happen in a year the conference is down.
#4 Clemson coming off a shocking loss visits a good but not good enough Wake Forest team (6-4.) Clemson may take it out on them.
Also have the big LA rivalry with #13 and suddenly very good USC against a 4-6 and falling apart UCLA team. Can the Bruins pull it together against the team they most want to beat. Nope, don't think so.
Number of potential scoreboard breakers as SEC teams get their yearly bye games in uniform. #1 Alabama against the mighty Mocs of Chatanooga, Auburn plays an even weaker Alabama A&M.
In the teams we love to hate category.
#18 Nebraska host a 5-5 Maryland team that isn't very good, Can the fuskers choke on this one?
Suddenly reeling Baylor at 6-3 hosts 5-4 Kansas State. KjSU seems to be getting better, here's to Snyder laying another well deserved beating on the Rape Bears.
5-5 Texas gets a free pass visiting 1-9 Kansas. Kansas keeps redefining terrible so Charlie can relax a bit this week and still get a comfortable win.
4-6 Notre Dame has to win this weeks game against 7-3 Virginia Tech to have any hope of a bowl game. Despite the questioning of how much VT should care this is a good change for them to lay a solid beating on a storied program. In this case kicking them while they are down is a good thing.
In local games
7-3 Should get well on the road against 3-7 San Jose State
5-5 CSU host the used to be bad 7-3 Lobos of New Mexico. They get SDSU next week so winning this one may be their only reasonable hope to become bowl eligible.
In a huge game 7-2 Wyoming hosts 9-1 San Diego State. Wyo is in a three way tie atop their division in the MWC so a win may put them into position for a championship game slot.
In what has been a step up year Northern Colorado (6-4) goes to also (6-4) Cal Poly with a chance to end their season wining 4 out of 5. A nice season for a team with a lot of Colorado HS kids playing.
Small colleges are now into playoffs
Colorado Mesa plays Texas A&M Commonwealth (how many campuses do they have?)
Colorado Mines plays Southwest Baptist (See Baptist Church, you can have a winning football team without making raping co-eds a part of your culture)
