Other games weekend of 11/3-11/5

Oregon will be really good again in two years if they keep their coaching staff. They have to play some young players, but they have made the decision to play a lot more. These guys will learn and grow.

we are going to have our hands full with wsu. they are playing great. uw is going to have their hands full with wsu the week after us. usc might be playing the best ball in the conference right at this moment. whatever happens with CU v. ua next week, the last 2 games are a mofo gauntlet. if we get through both wsu and utah, i think we can hang with uw.

Just saw a Wells Fargo commercial in spanish and all the text in spanish during the USC-Oregon game. Was that a mistake, or have we reached a point where there are enough spanish first viewers that this was intentional?

I forget what game I was watching last week, but there was a sports writer complaining about the game was in Spanish for a few minutes, but it didn't for me.

Nubs give up a defensive TD on their first possession, now 3 and out on their second.

Check that: OSU penalty gives the Nubs a first down.

So, I know I should root for Bama because it would put them in the rearview for CFP/Big 6 Bowl implications; but I also really like chaos and hate 'Bama; so Geaux Tigers?

USC is such a talented, bipolar team. Looking at their recruiting ratings/NFL potential, they're up there with the big boys, but they never seem to put it all together. This creates a lose/lose situation for anyone who plays them: if you win, the headlines are about how Southern Cal has lost its way. If you lose (as the Buffs unfortunately did), then the story is "well hey, maybe Southern Cal can get it going/Colorado loses to a down Trojans squad".

There's no way to play them and come out ahead at this point in time.

When USC loses, the rest of college football wins.

They are trying so hard to rehabilitate their brand that it wouldn't surprise me if it was intentional.

Same commercial (I think), but in English this time.

So, if Okie Light had not been jobbed by the refs or, better yet, if the mulleted magician had any sense of how to run down the end of the game against CMU, where would a 1-loss Okie Light be in the CFP standings?

After handing West Va. their first loss last week, I feel like a 1 loss Okie Light would be top 10 material, and West Virginia would have been dropped so hard..... then it all reverberates for the rest of the season; would all of the Big XII teams be a couple of spots higher in the end, just because of one ill-devised play from Gundy that was improperly officiated?

This guy^

Bo Pelini all levels meltdown for the Huskers right now. Nothing looks good.

Scholar Athlete of the game for Alabama had a 3.0 gpa. Holy ****! That's the best student they could find?

I thought the same thing, but maybe it was about the feeds the homeless and volunteered for West Virginia flood relief.

Maybe he's a 3.0 student with a difficult major, who has a kickass resume outside of class?

Nah, it's a bunch of guys that got recruited by Saban, it's probably the highest GPA on the roster.
