Other than Pedo State going down for the second time in a row last week was not a great week. This week looks like it could be a big one with a lot of impact on the playoff and the major bowls.
G5 games Wednesday night in the MAC with their best two teams facing off with 8-1 Toledo at 7-2 Ohio.
Thursday night we get maybe the worst slate of games of the season, good night to catch up on other things.
Friday gives us another big PAC game with (9) Washington playing at 6-3 Stanford. For the PAC to have a shot at the playoff the Huskies can’t lose this one or any others.
Saturday looks like a huge day with major playoff implications.
Harking back to the days of the Catholics vs. the Criminals we have (3) Notre Dame at (7) and 8-0 Miami with the winner solidifying their spot in the BCS rankings. Can hookers and blow recruit a team that beats touchdown Jesus.
Almost as big is a game for B12 leadership with (6) TCU in Norman for (5) Oklahoma, both teams 8-1. Ideal for the PAC would be for the winner of this game to then lose in their crazy one division but have a conference championship game.
(20) Iowa is only 6-3 but they may be biggest obstacle between (8) Wisconsin and an undefeated season.
Another potential knock out game involves (1) Georgia at (10) Auburn.
A potential but unlikely upset involves (2) Alabama at (16) Mississippi State.
Other games involving top 25 teams include (12) Michigan State at (13) Ohio State and in a game involving teams coming of big losses (15) Oklahoma State at (21) Iowa state.
In the PAC we have (19) Washington State visiting 5-4 Utah.
We probably won’t get to see Pedo State lose again this week against a lousy Rutgers team but we could have a good weekend with some other schools we like to see lose.
Nebraska at 4-5 is trying to hold on to their fading bowl hopes. Minnesota is also 4-5 and Nebraska is playing there. Go Gophers, take away what hope remains among those Nebraskans not already lost in cheap beer and meth. Even if Nebraska pulls this out they finish with Penn State and Iowa. Hard to find a sixth win in that schedule.
Happy to get their one win against a pathetic Kansas team Baylor should return to their losing ways against a 4-5 Texas Tech team that is looking to play in a bowl. The slime green uniforms are appropriate for that school.
They don’t want to fire him until the end of the season now but if Butch Jones Tennessee team loses to a bad Missouri team this week the AD may need to double the size of his State Trooper security squad (double in number, the individual trooper are already double the size of most people around them.)
Locally we have 6-3 Wyoming at 4-5 Air Force. Tough season for the Falcons but they don’t quit, should be a good game.
Less likely to be a good game is CSU 6-4 coming off a loss to Wyoming hosting 7-2 Boise State, a team coach Bobo hasn’t figured out how to beat in his time in Ft. Collins. Sheep fans are not optimistic about this one, for reason.
Northern Colorado who had hoped to be better than 2-7 at this point have a tough one at 6-3 Montana.
Small colleges are winding down. Last week of the regular season.
Pueblo plays at Chadron while Mesa goes out of conference to 6-3 Azuza Pacific. Both teams hoping for an invitation to the NCAA DII playoffs, a win against Azuza could help Mesa a lot.
