Other than Pedo State going down for the second time in a row last week was not a great week. This week looks like it could be a big one with a lot of impact on the playoff and the major bowls.

G5 games Wednesday night in the MAC with their best two teams facing off with 8-1 Toledo at 7-2 Ohio.

Thursday night we get maybe the worst slate of games of the season, good night to catch up on other things.

Friday gives us another big PAC game with (9) Washington playing at 6-3 Stanford. For the PAC to have a shot at the playoff the Huskies can’t lose this one or any others.

Saturday looks like a huge day with major playoff implications.

Harking back to the days of the Catholics vs. the Criminals we have (3) Notre Dame at (7) and 8-0 Miami with the winner solidifying their spot in the BCS rankings. Can hookers and blow recruit a team that beats touchdown Jesus.

Almost as big is a game for B12 leadership with (6) TCU in Norman for (5) Oklahoma, both teams 8-1. Ideal for the PAC would be for the winner of this game to then lose in their crazy one division but have a conference championship game.

(20) Iowa is only 6-3 but they may be biggest obstacle between (8) Wisconsin and an undefeated season.

Another potential knock out game involves (1) Georgia at (10) Auburn.

A potential but unlikely upset involves (2) Alabama at (16) Mississippi State.

Other games involving top 25 teams include (12) Michigan State at (13) Ohio State and in a game involving teams coming of big losses (15) Oklahoma State at (21) Iowa state.

In the PAC we have (19) Washington State visiting 5-4 Utah.

We probably won’t get to see Pedo State lose again this week against a lousy Rutgers team but we could have a good weekend with some other schools we like to see lose.

Nebraska at 4-5 is trying to hold on to their fading bowl hopes. Minnesota is also 4-5 and Nebraska is playing there. Go Gophers, take away what hope remains among those Nebraskans not already lost in cheap beer and meth. Even if Nebraska pulls this out they finish with Penn State and Iowa. Hard to find a sixth win in that schedule.

Happy to get their one win against a pathetic Kansas team Baylor should return to their losing ways against a 4-5 Texas Tech team that is looking to play in a bowl. The slime green uniforms are appropriate for that school.

They don’t want to fire him until the end of the season now but if Butch Jones Tennessee team loses to a bad Missouri team this week the AD may need to double the size of his State Trooper security squad (double in number, the individual trooper are already double the size of most people around them.)

Locally we have 6-3 Wyoming at 4-5 Air Force. Tough season for the Falcons but they don’t quit, should be a good game.

Less likely to be a good game is CSU 6-4 coming off a loss to Wyoming hosting 7-2 Boise State, a team coach Bobo hasn’t figured out how to beat in his time in Ft. Collins. Sheep fans are not optimistic about this one, for reason.

Northern Colorado who had hoped to be better than 2-7 at this point have a tough one at 6-3 Montana.

Small colleges are winding down. Last week of the regular season.

Pueblo plays at Chadron while Mesa goes out of conference to 6-3 Azuza Pacific. Both teams hoping for an invitation to the NCAA DII playoffs, a win against Azuza could help Mesa a lot.

Ohio University beating a solid Toledo team 31-10 in the fourth quarter. Win will move them to 8-2 on the season.

Has to be hard for the Nebraska fans to be reminded that Solich was Husker to the heart and they fired him after a 9 win season. This year will be his 9th bowl in 13 seasons after being kicked out of Nebraska as the red continue to slide into obscurity and will likely be looking for yet another coach after this season.

Fair to say that Nebraska probably would have slid even if they kept him because of other factors but it's funny that they are struggling to find a quality coach again and they had one there.

I was talking to a Domer this week and also inadvertently referred to their coming matchup against "the criminals". It knew it sounded wrong, but "convicts" eluded me at that moment.

I have a very good feeling about Auburn this weekend.
Auburn is the nation's "Gump box of chocolates" team in my book. Never know what you're gonna get. Every year it seems like there's no team they can't beat and no week when you can safely assume they'll win.

I am probably wrong, have been much of the season, but I think we are going to see some significant shake-ups this weekend and that Auburn game could very well be one of them.

Excellent.

Has anyone been all that right this season? Every week has been fun.

Yeah, Muschamp got dangerously close to upsetting Georgia. They just didn’t have the talent or offense to punish them. But the blueprint has been laid and Georgia reminds me of early Saban Bama where I don’t trust them to dig out of a hole. I imagine the first score won’t happen for most of the 1st quarter, but then Auburn will score first and we will see if Georgia can throw the ball against a nasty, always blitzing defense. That’s where you get the rookie QB missing throws, having balls batted at the LOS, fumbling, etc.

Auburn would have to miss short FGs (they have a good kicker) or turn the ball over to lose imo.

i want to preface this by stating that i went to auburn prior to colorado, and my wife went to UGA. i have washed almost every game of all three and i don't feel auburn has enough to pull this out. UGA has been clicking and while a few different teams have slowed them down, i think they are just too talented and finally too well coached to lose this now.

Even at Auburn? I try to steadfastly avoid the E$ecPN games as much as possible ... and while it would be more than practical to do so this Saturday, what with the CU and Mich games being on at the same time as the Ga @ AU game, I think that game and the Bama @ Miss St may be the most compelling games of the weekend. But of course I'll be deferring to the CU game. (y)

Congrats to the Tarheels for your first conference win of the year (November 9)!

Not that this means much going into this year's game, but Mark Packer was saying that UGA and Auburn have met 3 previous times when both were top 10 teams and Auburn is 3-0 in those games.

Tuned in just in time to see a 98 yd kickoff return for Temple against Cinci. 28-14 Temple halfway through the 3rd.

i would love to see it but i really think this is the best UGA team in a while. I liked Richt, but it seems kirby smart has instilled the long lacking discipline in this team.

Ugh. Petros Papadakis doing the Washington at Stanford game tonight. Can't stand his voice. Coverage currently bumped to FS2 so that they can cover the end of whatever the hell you call that truck racing stuff on FS1. Great job on the TV contract Larry Scott. Bumped for truck racing. smh

I actually kind of like Petros ... he can be funny, and unlike certain other color announcers (looking at you Brady Quinn) actually seems to know what he's talking about.

But then again ... I'm actually starting to warm up to Gus Johnson, so WTF do I know?

UDub @ Furd looking like it could be a good one ... 7-0 UDub at the end of the 1st but the Trees are on the 1yd line to start the 2nd.

David Shaw should be taking so much more heat for playing Chryst this season but he won’t because Stanford media/fan base doesn’t really care.

I really want to see the "U" lay an ass whoopin on the Domers today. As much as I cannot stand Nebraska, Notre Dame, and Miami, the only one I respect is the Hurricanes. They are a classic part of college football when you look at the culture that is Miami. As long as Lou Holtz made the CU v ND game what it was, I cannot respect nor ever root for Notre Dame. Miami on the other hand, just makes you smile when you think of all the alums they have had and the way they played football. The 1993 fight was just another legendary chapter in college football and the Buffs were relevant enough to make it important. I will take that kind of fight any day, would even take a fight today.
