Other games weekend of 11/8-11/11

I have a severe dislike for Lou Holtz, and any team he has every been a part of, especially the Irish. Miami is a pretty sloppy program, but they have personality. Agreed, do not root for either team specifically or by choice, but would prefer a Miami victory today.

Miami are the Raiders of college football. Fun to laugh at when they suck, but as soon as they're good again, every poser thug wannabe adopts them as 'his' team.

I could never root for ND, but there's no way I'm rooting for Miami.

Matter of fact, I've rooted for Miami exactly once ever - 2002 Rose Bowl against the Nubs.

So many nice games right now. Split screen with nc state:bc & cyclones: okie lite.

How in the world has Matt Campbell done what he has done at Iowa State? He might get a raise that will surprise a lot of people and I see him staying in Ames until either Notre Dame or Ohio State open up. I could see him getting up to $5,000,000 per year.

He may likely be getting those big $$$ offers this offseason. Dude has made Iowa State one of the nice surprises of the season. Huge wins and great discipline from his team.

Minnesota makes it 37-14 with 5 minutes left in the 3rd. I never thought I'd feel pity for the Nubs, but I'm on the edge.

Minnesota now over 50. Wouldn't bother me if it went over 100.

I will feel just as much pity for the fuskers as their "greatest fans in the world" felt for all those directional barber colleges they used to roll up 70s and 80's on in their "glory days."

Fusker fans used to love tacking on 4th quarter touchdowns so their scores would look more impressive to the poll voters, and act like they had accomplished something beating a bunch of teams that were barely above Division 2.

No, I don't feel bad at all for fusker fans. About the only teams I could ever see not wanting to see blast the fuskers are Pedo State and Baylor.

The raise will come from Iowa State. They actually have a ton of money and a lot of big boosters. Putting Millions and Millions into facilities and will get that old stadium fully completed on all sides. It has been said out loud that Campbell will not be taking any other jobs and plans to stay at Iowa State until one of his two dream jobs opens up (Ohio State and Notre Dame) because he is a midwest guy. Iowa State will boost up his salary to a high level to solidify that. What amazes me is he is performing, and he is recruiting probably much better than MM is here in Boulder. And many of you Big 12 veterans know that Ames is a little crap hole.

So, does leach leave the cougs and follow his AD? People round here think it's a good possibility he leaves for lincoln.

His ability to recruit to and win in Ames is amazing. That they’re getting more there than we are in Boulder stings. I hope he stays in Ames.

Damn. I hope they’re ok.
One of those ones where you feel bad for the guy getting ejected, but exactly the play that needs to be removed from the game if you'd prefer functioning brains for players after their playing days are done.

Just trying to lay in to the receiver and break up a catch, but hit with the crown of the helmet right to the facemask.

I feel like it's a perfect video to show young safeties. Look, he tried hard to seperate the WR from the ball, but he didn't, and he hurt himself, and his opponent, and gave up 15 yards, and missed the rest of that game and the first half next week. All that for what? Maybe a 5% chance that he gets the WR to drop the ball; bad decision from a risk/reward perspective for his own safety, his competitor's safety, and for the outcome of the game for his team.

I tried to follow the Huskers/Gophers game but the Rotten Corn was so bad I lost interest after 5 minutes. Switched to Northern Co vs Montana Griz. Seriously. NoCo QB Jacob Knippe is gone for the season with an injury, so the backup has been playing since last week. Griz needs to win out or Stitt could be on the hot seat. See how easy it is to substitute even FCS stuff over Nebraska? Maybe Nublets need to crawl on their bloody knees back to Frank Solich...

I don't even think Frank could save the Nubs now.

Do we have language in the contract with them saying those games have to be on the 4 letter network or FOX.....or are we going to get to suffer through Matt Millen like last year in Ann Arbor?

Not sure... Ugh.

Really interesting call coming in the ISU/Okie Lite game.

50/50 ball in the corner of the EZ. WR pins it with one hand against the chest of the DB, who wraps hands around ball and WR hand. They roll over, ball shifts, hard to say who has control. Called INT initially.

Not likely to change.
