Other games weekend of 9/13-9/15

Also, go Texas. The closer my daughter gets to going there and the more sincere she is about wanting to, I want them to be good when she's there.

I'll go on record and say it - Troy can take out Nebraska. Not because on any given week they could. But after the week Nebraska has had with the emotional home opening loss, the Kneegate, Frost being overly concerned about himself and how he looked. I'm not sure if they paid enough attention to game planning Troy. Short passes all day and Nebraska is F'd.

A win by Troy over Nebraska would be glorious and I agree that it could very well happen.

I do think though that it could happen on any given week.

Nebraska is not close to as good as Nebraska thinks it is. They have some very talented individual players but their recruiting over the past few years has not been at the standard they are used to. Bigger than that is that they have had a lot of bad attrition from those classes. Lots of players they counted on are not around playing for them.

Last season the lost to a MAC team. They got dominated by the better and even decent teams in the B1G and even in the games they won they weren't dominant for the most part. Frost may be a good coach but that ship going to take a while to get turning.

I dunno - their home crowd is a real advantage. They definitely affected us, I think. You could make the argument that they're not going to be as excited this week as they were for Frost's first game, but I think they'll be a factor.

I also think their linemen on both sides of the ball showed marked improvement from last year. I believe our OL and DL are better this year than last, and they still struggled. I think NU should bulldoze Troy, unless they are distracted and are going to let the CU game beat them again.

Talentwise NU should bulldoze Troy, but they should have bulldozed Northern Illinois last year as well. And the crowd is a big factor but if the corn doesn't come ready to play and Troy gets off to a big start without a response that crowd could and will turn either quiet or against them.

No question that Nebraska should be favored and by a solid margin but Troy winning the game is certainly not as preposterous as the idea of one of the G5 teams beating the corn in their own stadium was a few years ago.

This is a Nebraska team that is still a question mark mentally and emotionally. They came in last week believing and left with a loss. An emotional letdown this week combined with Troy getting some breaks could result in another bad result for them.

Not only are they coming off a big emotional game but next week they go to Ann Arbor so this is a sandwich game for them. And they might decide to let Martinez sit out this week and even if he does play he'll likely be limited as a runner.

Memphis should have used some more of this type of effort to take down UCF in the conference championship last year.

if the green weenies win in G-ville, gators will throw Mullen in Hogtown Creek and I will be letting every obnoxious gator fan know how far they’ve fallen.

I work with a gator season ticket holder and askd him to ask any CSU fans he sees “hey, did you bring the buffalo?” and to film their reaction.

I dunno - isn't he like 2-11 against CU, AFA, and Wyo?

Even CSU alumni aren't going to stand for it if it keeps going like that.

Correct. He has feasted on the dregs of the MWC to achieve mediocrity.

I think Auburn rolls today and easily covers -10 against LSU.

Oh, and tell him to post the clips on Youtube. I want to watch that forever and ever.

I'm really interested to see how Syracuse does against Florida State right now. Seems like they're set up to get them. Playing at home, FSU's pass defense has been horrible, FSU's struggling in general, and Cuse has been lighting things up so far this year.

Kansas up 3-0 on Rutgers.

Root for KU. A viable football program there makes if much more likely the Big 12 breaks apart (B1G and maybe the Pac-12 would go after them).

Catch-22 IMO. Kansas winning 2-3 games prolongs the Beaty era potentially.

They'd probably throw the Nubs out......I mean that's a one of these things is not like the others kind of thing in terms of academics. Speaking of which........the Nubs like gave up a big play to Troy. Trojans 3-0.

Watching OU-Iowa State. Oklahoma has some serious speed on offense, more than usual.
