Texas the only travel partner for CU that would get anyone in the Pac12 excited.
I am on record as supporting the addition of Tulane to any conference I happen to be affiliated with at the time.
Trips to New Orleans, blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah... The potential for Tulane is ridiculous. And it would be so much fun.
This is the issue I see, BYU would bring 18 teams (outside of FB), and we would need to accommodate their non Sunday play at the expense of all existing members.Just took a quick look at last year's CU conference schedules. Men & Women BB played a whole lot of games on Sunday during the conference schedule. VB does a lot, too. Soccer was like half its Pac-12 matches on Sunday.
I suspect this is why I saw some chatter about the Big 12 potentially looking at BYU as a football-only member.
Decided to google it and see if it had gained any steam. Apparently, the talk around the ACC meeting is that this is something the Big 12 is exploring with possibly UConn being added also as football-only. The general thought on that: step forward for BYU but not a good situation for UConn. http://www.sbnation.com/college-foo...ig-12-expansion-connecticut-byu-football-only
Wyoming over BYU? Um, no.Please PAC12 never take BYU. I know chances are like 1 percent they ever would get picked by Cal, Stanford ... and Utah, but just don't ever go there. UNM or CSU or even USU or even Wyoming just for an easy win for everyone. Big 12 is getting political pressure to take SMU now too ... ha ha ha what a joke of a program SMU. That would really salt BYU to get passed over by SMU. Let it be done
Wyoming over BYU? Um, no.
A trip to New Orleans to watch football and get polluted on Bourbon St.?
I fail to see the downside to this arrangement.
Wyoming is an up and coming program, in a good sized metro area with a solid following and...
Aaaaawwwwww, I can't do it. WYO brings nothing other than a halfway decent hoops program. CSU would be a better choice.
I get it. I was trying to make an actual justification for Wyoming to the PAC 12. I got nothin', though.I'm not debating the relative merits, just that it would piss off the chuckleheads in Provo and Ft. Fumunda something fierce.
Ban?Wyoming is an up and coming program, in a good sized metro area with a solid following and...

I've said so much worse around here and never got banned.
If Texas really pushed for Houston to join and not BYU it becomes completely obvious this is a money grab and a way to get their land purchase through and they do not plan on staying in the conference past 2025.
