Trips to New Orleans, affiliation with one of the Top 100 universities in the nation, recruiting grounds in a state that has a ridiculous amount of talent for only one P5 program. The potential for Tulane is ridiculous. And it would be so much fun.
You wrote something different, but this is all I actually see.
I'd take Houston and Tulane. Lot of upside to that from a market expansion POV, Recruiting interest, etc. Hits all the hot spots that UNM, UNLV, SDSU, Memphis, just don't.

This is the issue I see, BYU would bring 18 teams (outside of FB), and we would need to accommodate their non Sunday play at the expense of all existing members.

Please PAC12 never take BYU. I know chances are like 1 percent they ever would get picked by Cal, Stanford ... and Utah, but just don't ever go there. UNM or CSU or even USU or even Wyoming just for an easy win for everyone. Big 12 is getting political pressure to take SMU now too ... ha ha ha what a joke of a program SMU. That would really salt BYU to get passed over by SMU. Let it be done

actually, taking Wyo would be a HUGE F-U to BYU and the green weenies.

I so hope this happens and there is no GOR extension. That would give Tulane almost 10 years to build things up with Big 12 resources before the Pac-12 came poaching.

Report that BYU may be left out because Tex-ass wants Houston, and OU wants Cincy. That doesn't really move the needle for me. Granted the tweet came from a dude covering Cincy. So take it for what it's worth.
Also, the author doesn't have CS-who in the top 8 teams likely to be added.
We really should help them out and start thinking of creative non-football ways of filling their new stadium.

Yep. If they want to create the strongest football conference for the long-term, they probably choose BYU and UCF. But both of those are kind of a pain in the ass (travel & the Sunday issue for non-revenue sports). Houston satisfies politics. Cincinnati is easier travel and they know they can work with Bohn/Tuberville.
For a conference that still hasn't responded to multiple rapes on the Baylor campus, includes an Oklahoma program that has welcomed an alleged rapist back with open arms, includes a Texas program that is legendary for "supporting" football players in trouble, etc. etc. a letter from LGBT groups is going to carry about as much weight as a helium birthday balloon.
They are going to make their decision based on $$, the rest will be lip service. I don't think BYU is going to get in but it won't be due to any social issues.
