Dude. That quote was after USC and UCLA had announced they were leaving.Well, since then, USC and UCLA were poached. Had those two programs not left, going shopping in the Big XII might have actually been feasible.
I honestly believe the numbers/exposure will never eclipse the BIG12's deal.Once again, CU hasn't left yet because there is no reason to leave until they actually see what the numbers look like. CU automatically becomes a Tier 1 brand in the Big 12. That conference will wait until CU decides they are ready, give them a full share of media revenue and welcome them with open arms if the time comes.
What you "believe" has no bearing on the actual reality, hence why CU is doing the only thing it can possibly responsibility do, and wait for the final offer.I honestly believe the numbers/exposure will never eclipse the BIG12's deal.
Because of that I'm anxious for them to move and stop this nonsense. It's a delay of the inevitable.
Was it? I thought that was after UT and OU announced they were leaving when everyone in the industry was saying the Big 12 was assuredly deadDude. That quote was after USC and UCLA had announced they were leaving.
I just checked and it is true, the comment was after they announced they were leaving. I was surprised. Was it? I thought that was after UT and OU announced they were leaving when everyone in the industry was saying the Big 12 was assuredly dead
I'm all for your passion on the subject, but what you believe is irrelevant, nor is it based on anything more than speculation from fringe media personalities who also know nothing. There is no rush in any of this.I honestly believe the numbers/exposure will never eclipse the BIG12's deal.

Here's another classic from GK.
George Kliavkoff: "What we've seen is the longer we wait for the media deal, the better our options get."

Fair enough. Apologies, @BerkeleyBuffI just checked and it is true, the comment was after they announced they were leaving. I was surprised.
USC and UCLA announced they were leaving several weeks beforehand. The Big XII made their "open for business" comment and people online suggested PAC schools should join the Big XII. Then GK made his ridiculous "we might go shopping there" comment about the Big XII, coming across as a bullied kid who takes out his frustration by attacking an even weaker kid (XII) while never saying a single thing about the bully who actually beat him up (B1G).Was it? I thought that was after UT and OU announced they were leaving when everyone in the industry was saying the Big 12 was assuredly dead
No apologies needed man. It's been a year long **** show and we're all going a bit crazy.Fair enough. Apologies, @BerkeleyBuff
Seen better at the G5 level.Radio silence and poor PR/narrative creation aside…. I am thoroughly unimpressed by Kliavkoff.
He seems like a mid-tier manager or possibly low-end director at best. How he has risen to the level of pay and seniority with those presentation and speaking skills is beyond me
I agree with everything you said, but ask, is there a drop dead date where CU no longer believes the P12-2 will ever get a deal? At some point, enough time passes where the failure to give numbers leaves CU no choice. I have no idea when that might be.Once again, CU hasn't left yet because there is no reason to leave until they actually see what the numbers look like. I don't think there is a possibility of the Pac 12 not getting a deal of some kind done. I think there is likely a deal on the table, but it's below what the conference believes is FMV and/or contains more streaming than they'd like, hence the continued waiting game.I agree with everything you said, but ask, is there a drop dead date where CU no longer believes the P12-2 will ever get a deal? Oh geez...the inevitable inclusion question...don't care today is about football. Interesting that GK mentions it will be difficult to raise funds for the Olympic sports in the future.
You lead us off!Anyone want to talk about football?
The end of that presser with GK was so bad that it's still trying to get digested.Anyone want to talk about football?
