I move that we put this "Replacement for Embree" thread to rest for a while. All in favor say, "Aye."

For the guys that keep comparing Embree's teams to Mac's teams did his teams regress their 2nd year and actually look and play worse? We heard these same things with Hawkins and look how that turned out.

CU needs a coach with PROVEN COLLEGE COACHING EXPERIENCE.
I don't care if it is someone who has never even played or coached in the state of Colorado. CU needs a proven winner.
Go find the coordinator with the best resume, offer him $1.7 million, and let him go with it.
I don't think that having a CU legacy is a bad thing. Understanding and being a part of the tradition and having contacts with the ex players as well as being know to the alums is not a bad thing and wouldn't be a negative going into the future if Embree gets replaced.
The only problem is that the hire can't be made because of the CU connection. The number one consideration has to be the ability to lead and coach the team. The CU connection only comes into play as a tiebreaker between a guy who has the CU connection and one who doesn't. It can't be the issue that puts the guy on top of the list to start with.
