While watching a World Cup match, thought I'd look and see how the incoming Buff soccer players did their senior years.
1st, noticed the below tweet.
Congrats to incoming Buff midfielder
Emily Groark for being named a High School All-American by the "United Soccer Coaches" organization!

Also, in what I believe was a separate list (???), looks like she was also named All American (2nd team) by USA Today/ Topdrawersoccer -
http://usatodayhss.com/2018/america...usa-girls-soccer-second-team-2#slideIdslide-5
AND, she was also named her state's (Missouri's) Class 3*** Co-Offensive player of the year per
http://www.ozarkssportszone.com/2018/06/14/2018-class-3-all-state-girls-soccer-team/ . (***From what I could find, looks like Class 3 is the 2nd highest division for Missouri high school soccer.)

Also, as a nice sign of the depth of this incoming Buff's class, looks like
all 4 of the incoming CU "true""** freshmen were in the nation-wide 250 player topdrawersoccer "All-American Watchlist" shown at
https://www.topdrawersoccer.com/high-school-soccer/all-america/women/spring-2018/5024/27/nopage-0 . Including Ms. Groark, the other 3 incoming "true" freshmen*** Buffs are :
- California midfielder Kayleigh Webb (In what I assume is one of if not THE strongest soccer states, looks like she was named All-State per https://www.sdhoc.com/2017-all-cif-girls-soccer-team after her senior season. Per her CU roster page, she was also All-CIF 1st team her junior year.)
***In addition to these 4, there is incoming
transfer (from the Univ. of Virginia)
red-shirt freshman Sofia Weiner (from Evergreen CO). (Ms. Weiner, like Ms. Kingsbury, was named the 4A Colorado Player of the Year in
her senior (2017) season.)

With the strength in the Pac 12, the Buffs need these kind of classes to be competitive, especially if they want to crack the top 3 of Stanford, UCLA and USC. Per the teaser (free) start to topdrawersoccer's premium list of their top ranked recruiting classes this year (
https://www.topdrawersoccer.com/club-soccer-articles/2018-womens-recruiting-rankings:-june_aid44216), looks like Stanford's class is ranked #1 in the nation and USC's #2, and I'd be shocked if UCLA is far behind. (I don't have a premium subscription to that website, so can't see for sure.)
