As I also mentioned in a thread I quickly set up for this year's fall sport media day (https://www.allbuffs.com/threads/20...-day-olympic-sport-content-august-4th.133911/), Coach Sanchez, along with 3 players, had a press conference as their season looms. Content arising from it-

I have to admit, I was not for firing Hempen and getting Sanchez. It seemed like a Bohn I25 hire, and Hempen has a great coaching resume. I guess I'm eating crow a little on this one, as Sanchez seems to have the team doing well. I know we're not national contenders, but it'd be great to win another national championship outside of skiing and cross country. Maybe one of our female sports like lacrosse or soccer can pull through.

They have the Buffs at 6th. (Unlike the Pac coaches that voted the Buffs 5th, they have the Buffs also behind Arizona.)

What to know: While California is searching for a goalkeeper, Colorado has one of the top keepers in Division I in Jalen Tompkins. She will make this team competitive in the conference for the next two seasons. The return of Jorian Baucom from injury and another season of dominance from Taylor Kornieck makes Colorado one of the teams to watch to sneak into the top three in the conference. Freshman Emily Groark could be a stud immediately too.
Game to watch: vs. Missouri, Aug. 25, 1 p.m. (MT)
