As I'd mentioned last week in the
tennis thread (
https://www.allbuffs.com/threads/te...y-spring-2019-season-news-and-results.134919/), that team has had A LOTS of turnover under their new coach, and the roster was down to 4 heading into the main spring season (with 6 the MINIMUM a full team in an individual competition). Looks like a couple freshmen have arrived to get the roster up to its minimum required level
this season, and there are 2 more arriving next academic year.
Welcome and congrats to Tallulah Farrow (Canberra, Australia) and Sara Nayar (Queensland, Australia) for this season, Radka Buzkova (Bouhtin, Czech Republic) and Maria Campos (Laredo, Texas) for the 2019/20 year!!!

BOULDER – The University of Colorado women's tennis program has signed four players to National Letters of Intent, head coach
Danielle Steinberg announced earlier this week, including a pair that will join for the 2019 season.
The Buffaloes add a pair of individuals with Australian roots for the spring semester in Tallulah Farrow (Canberra, Australia) and Sara Nayar (Queensland, Australia). They are accompanied in the signing by Radka Buzkova (Bouhtin, Czech Republic) and Maria Campos (Laredo, Texas).
"Jovan and I spent a lot of time on the recruiting trail the past 6 months and we were very deliberate with this first recruiting class," said Steinberg. "We are still not done, but I am very pleased with the additions we made so far."
Tallulah Farrow (Spring 19)
Farrow is the 63rd ranked player in Australia and in the top-3 juniors in her age group. She competed for the Tennis Australia National Academy the past four seasons, highlighted by a 6th-place finish in the 16U Australian Nationals. She also has competed in the Junior Australian Open. Her highest WTA doubles ranking is 1,009.
Farrow also was a winner in an ITF Junior Doubles tournament and was the tournament winner at the Gold Australian Money Tournament. She plans on majoring in either sports journalism or philosophy.
"Tallulah is just a good kid," said Steinberg. She has very high work ethics and she is hungry to get to work. We feel like this will be the first time Tallulah will get an organized program of training, and so I am excited to see how much we can get her developed right off the bat. She is a great student and will be a great teammate. Most importantly she is extremely excited to become a Buff and will add immediate positive energy to the team."
Sara Nayar (Spring 19)
Nayar has had a highest ranking in ITF juniors of 324. She competed in the 2018 Junior Australian Open and has a Grade 4 ITF Juniors Tournament win at the ITF Perlis Junior Championship. She made it to the semifinals in the Mapei Gold Coast Junior International tournament and has a doubles final loss in the Queensland Junior Championships.
Nayar, who was born in Malaysia, won two Gold Australian Money Tournaments back-to-back after being injured. She is undecided on her major.
"Sara is an accomplished and experienced junior player and will definitely add us on court value from the get go," said Steinberg. "Her best tennis is ahead of her, and I think joining a team and playing for a program other than yourself will help her find her maximum. She is a hard worker and a great fighter on the court. I am excited to get to watch her compete for us."
Maria Campos (Fall 2019)
Campos is among the top-500 in ITF Junior rankings. She is a five-star tennis recruit and ranked 58th nationally in the 18-age group. She was ranked 31st in the 16-age group. Campos is a national L1 champion in Mexico and has wins in doubles in the El Salvador ITF Level 4 Championships. She was a runner up in doubles in the ITF South America Regional ITF tournament.
Campos also boasts top-4 finishes in the Copa Mundo Maya singles and the JITIC U18 Regional Championships in Doubles play. She is interested in majoring in global affairs.
"I am thrilled that Maria decided to join our family," said Steinberg. "Not only is she an accomplished and highly ranked player, she embodies so many of the traits we look for in a teammate. She is a hard worker on and off the court and is very humble and appreciative of everything. Maria is going to be a leader for us on the court, but more importantly she will represent the Buffs the best way possible at everything she will do. I can't wait to have her on campus."
Radka Buzkova (Fall 2019)
Buzkova has had a ranking of No.2 in the Czech Republic and is ranked 26th in the Tennis Europe rankings. She was a member of the Czech Republic Fed Cup U16 team and has a highest ITF juniors ranking of 311. She Also boasts a WTA doubles ranking of 888.
Buzkova has wins in the CCTK Cup Doubles and won the Nature Elements Luxemburg Indoor Junior Open Doubles where she was top-4 in the singles play.
"To say we were excited when Radka decided to join us would be an understatement," said Steinberg. "Radka has been a top junior player in Europe throughout her career. She comes from arguably the best tennis country in the world, Czech Republic, and so brings with her a vast amount of high level experience in training and competition. She will push everyone around her daily and certainly will elevate our level immediately. Radka will be a great teammate and is instrumental to the foundation we are building this program on."
