This was embarrassing. I am willing to live with losing a game. I am tilling to live with a rebuilding season. I am willing to live with only 2 or 3 wins. I am not willing to live with being embarrassed. Special teams - embarrassingly bad. Still an embarrassing amount of stupid penalties. Speedy embarrassingly under-productive. Hansen and embarrassingly slow start and looks to P-Rich too much ... make a check down pass damn it! Defense had an embarrassing number of missed tackles. Yet again we let a sub-par QB look like a Heisman candidate by running the ball on us - where is our LB spy?

The staff needs to get away from the rollouts too. Hansen is OK when he can set his feet, but his accuracy on the run is awful. Too bad too, because his mobility should be one of his strengths.

Agreed. The ball sails on him when he throws on the move.
 
There is so much to hate about that game.

We shouldn't have been there.

I never want to see Speedy return another kick. Ever. I don't think this was one bad game. It was a continuing trend of bone headed plays from Speedy. I love the guy. But damn.

WTF is up with the punting? Are we doing that intentionally? Are we hoping for turnovers? Or are they just really bad kicks?

Polk? :bang: Can't we put Smith there? Obviously Smith has some speed after running down Hall on the 90 yard return.

Kick the ball in bounds?

The special teams were absolutely pathetic. I didn't think they could be any worse than they were under the Hawk regime, but today proved me wrong. I am so upset with the special teams. There is no way you can win if you start at your own 10 and your opponent starts at your 40 ALL GAME LONG.

And god damn it, we shouldn't have ****ing been there to begin with.

Games like today are killers for recruiting.

Would you be saying that had he caught his one-handed TD? I agree, he isn't the second coming of Larry Fitzgerald, but he is still one of the best WR's we've had in quite a while. I also think that if Tyler didn't stare him down from the moment the ball is snapped he may havce more catches
 
The coaches are really going to have to do something special on the recruiting front to close out the 2012 class. We have to recruit above the current level of our team in a big way. Otherwise, we are going to continue to spin our wheels.
 
I have to admit I am starting to lose interest. Halfway through the 3rd quarter my wife wanted to go out and run some errands - I went with her. The status of CU football has dropped in my life. It use to be in my top 10 and now it is below running errands with my wife which is not in my top 100 of things to do on Saturday....
 
This team is no better than last years team and will be lucky to win 2 more games. Recruiting will be mediocre.

Get back to me in 2012.

It was a nice day to catch up on some chores. I got the lawn mowed.
 
I really find it amazing to read threads like this...seriously. How many of us said in Nov 2009 that this is where we would find ourselves for many years to follow, since Danny doosh dick was retained? This is going to blow for at least two years (or longer, if Jon is not the right guy). So, everybody needs to relax.

I don't expect us to be world beaters, but tell me how this team is better in any area than last year? Giving up the big play on defense and FG kicking is about all I can come up with, but maybe I am forgetting something.

When you see the same things go wrong week in and week out (special teams, penalties, slow starts, etc.), it starts to get annoying. I do not think it is too much to ask for some progress this year and next. You can play a better brand of football that does not necessarily translate into wins immediately. We still look lost and undisciplined for the most part and special teams were just atrocious today. These are things that should be rectified sooner rather than later.
 
The team has the same problems as last year and embo doesn't seem to have control of himself or the team. Anyone else at the game see when he almost hit the ref when he threw his clipboard? That is not good to be doing if you are the head coach.

I'm still in wait and see mode, but the current staff has not shown me much to think that anything is going to change. It's pretty depressing.

What you are forgetting is these guys are Danny's recruits, and he taught them how to lose.
