Shedeur Sanders - 2023-25 Tracking History Thread - Drafted by the Cleveland Browns (NFL)

I think both Shedeur and Gabriel find a place in the league as starters.
Pickett is only 3 years away from being the 20th pick in the 2022 draft.

This will be an interesting camp for sure.

There are two takeaways:

(1) insiders don't seem to know **** and were wrong all along.
(2) evaluators suck at evaluation of QBs

The fact that Tom Brady passed on him is probably the most telling though. That's the thing I don't understand. I thought he'd go there for sure by round 3.

Anonymous sources in the NFL will say all sorts of things. Im willing to acknowledge we overestimated him as a first round QB, but anyone suggesting the sacks and offense he played in being the primary reasons for sliding to the 5th is an idiot, which Vic Lombardi very much is when it comes to anything outside of the Nuggets at this point in his career.
If Shedeur would’ve played the game, he would’ve been a top 5 pick. He didn’t and the NFL punished him.

Seems pretty clear the NFL said there is only one brand, and it is the NFL brand

Also, to all the experts here, How long until Shedeur is an NFL starter? Will it be next year? For the first time in a very long time, I am mildly interested in watching some NFL games. Never thought it would be the Cleland Browns
I think there’s a very real chance Shedeur starts some games next year.

Flacco is washed, and they won’t be in the playoffs.

Shedeur will germ this chances.

none of this was a good look for the program. I think a lot of it was just pure bull****, honestly. but, I hope 2 puts his head down and works his ass off and wins, wins, wins. that will be the best revenge.

also another anonymous thing from NFL scouts that kept coming up and made me cringe--- they cited how simple and easy the offense we ran is.

that could mean a few different not-good things--- I mean shurmur knows. how to install an offense, so why were we doing that?

anyhow, go kick some ass, SS. forever buff.
The offense was simple because we were geared for the short passing game because the line, while serviceable last year, still wasn’t great.

With zero run Gabe, we weren’t going to have the time to run complex concepts.

We already saw way more conceits in the spring Gabe than in the last two years

Who's Gabe?

Anonymous NFL assistant, as reported by NFL Network's Tom Pelissero:

One longtime NFL assistant coach said his time with Sanders was "the worst formal interview I've ever been in in my life. He's so entitled. He takes unnecessary sacks. He never plays on time. He has horrible body language. He blames teammates. ... But the biggest thing is, he's not that good."

Anonymous assistant, right. You wanna talk shvt about someone, put your pussy ass name on it.

Yes. Pete Carroll is old AF. He wants his guys and wants to win to-day.
I never thought the Raiders speculation made sense with Carroll. He’s not trying to develop a rookie QB at his age. Has to be all in on winning now.

I hope the rumors the owner made the pick aren’t true and he gets a fair shake. 4 QBs in camp is going to be tough especially with the rules limiting practice time. Think he’ll have to kill it at rookie minicamp.

Huh? Our OL was dreadful two seasons ago and really bad last season.
You can cover a bad OL with better concepts and design. The 10 personnel 7 on 7 offense was exciting but led to most sacks

The lack of pro running concepts is not OL, it is a combined preference or agreement between QB and play caller.

I think Shedeur has even more potential than he has shown. A more determined guy might unlock a beast

I am in agreement. That baffled me. Brady passed on Shedeur like 9 times. Wtf?! Perhaps it is the sack issue. Brady was one of the goats at evading sacks without being a running quarterback.

CU and their fans were sure he was a top 10 pick and retired his number. He went 144th in the fifth round and could be third string QB for the Cleveland Browns. The 144th pick in the NFL draft garnered the most news of the draft. The President of the United States tweeted someone should draft him.

Succeed or fail, I'm not sure whether we will ever experience what just happened with Shedeur Sanders. I wonder when we will start seeing the documentaries of this story.

Brady is not some QB whisperer. Whatever quick spatial awareness he might have had that led to success on the field does not suggest he is some deep thinker or even quality NFL analyst.
