There were multiple reports visible to fans just before the draft that SS was unlikely to go 1R. By end of R2, we were seeing reports he may fall multiple more or even go undrafted. If those reports were available to average fans, I suspect more credible reporting was available to GMs.In the stock market, you see the plateau. How would you see the lack of interest plateau in a draft except when someone calls his name?
I suspect teams have people who study player movement and draft trends of other teams with the goal of predicting what those other teams' next moves are.
And, I suspect if there was anything to rumors about lingering injury concerns, or bad interviews, or "non-teamplayer attitude" or whatever were true, that many teams knew more than we did.
