Sports gambling is now federally allowed in every state (SCOTUS)

I hope they'll allow Super Contest sign ups in Colorado. Might not be allowed because of state limits. I've always wanted to try it. Super contest is an NFL pool where you pick 5 games ATS every week. I play in a smaller pool with a group of friends that basically has super contest rules, 2 years ago I would've finished in the money in the actual super contest with my record. This last year I would've been on pace to be in the money through about 8 weeks, and then I went cold and picked at laughable 40% rate. Terrible.

I've done that a few times as well. It's extremely difficult

Because you don’t have to interact with other people or think about what you are doing.
I had a friend who did highly technical work full-time, while also doing research for a Masters degree in a laboratory doing even more intellectually challenging work. On the rare weekend off one of their favorite activities was an evening in Blackhawk, parked at a slot machine, staring at blinking lights.

Slot machines are programmed to take your money. They prey on the same neural receptors as narcotics and other extreme stimuli. If you spend enough time in front of one, no matter how smart you are, you can become addicted or at least enjoy them to an extreme degree.

A buddy of mine, who has plenty of experience in Vegas and Blackhawk, grabbed my hand and made me get up from a nickel or dime slot machine after winning $30 on 1 roll. "This is as good as its going to get on this machine, you're done." Same buddy won big at the craps table after only 5 minutes of playing, picked up his chips and left.

Yeah, I think this friend took it as being willing to pay a maximum $40 to sit and relax for a few hours while someone showed up with free beer ever 30 minutes or so; with the upshot of it costing about $15-20 for ~3hours of beer and entertainment on average.

That's pretty much why I enjoy Blackjack. When I'm playing regularly, I rarely lose money, and will walk away with a few bucks in my pocket after nicely tipping the dealers and wait staff over a few hours while enjoying some people watching and having a number of free beers.

Of course, the problem is, I don't play regularly anymore. That means this typically turns in to tipping the dealer and wait staff nicely for losing money and leaving before I had all the "fun" I was hoping for going in.

If anyone is interested VSiN.com is free to listen to until sports comeback. They have some good reads for beginners on sports betting. A lot of draft talk also.

If I’m in town, I am game. Otherwise I will be playing in DC.
Some buddies and I always hit up the first round of the ncaa tournament in Blackhawk. Although, now with sports betting legal it’ll probably be a mad house that first weekend

I love

I love playing Blackjack head up with dealer. I play straight by the book. Dealer knows that after a few hands. We can go fast. I drink Diet Sprite.

Colorado gonna have two of the three best in person sportsbooks in America available online?!

OMG. Moving back home may have to become a priority.
Manhattan, will we get Circus in CO? I want early Sunday lines for CFB. You scored for good early bets that many of us couldn’t get until later when line moved. Or just give me John’s number?💰😝

Haha. Circa is going to Colorado. I posted the article.

Heard on VSiN today that the super book will have a super contest for Colorado if given the ok.

Captain Jack Andrews — the pseudonym of a prominent East Coast bettor and analyst — has heard it all before, so when a man from the Midwest reached out to him in December of 2020 saying he felt like he had been taken advantage of by William Hill sportsbook, Andrews decided to take a look, but with trepidation.

“I tend to vet these claims pretty harshly since the last thing I want to do is be stuck defending an angle shooter,” Andrews told CO Bets via email.

So he vetted. And what he found was a straight shooter who won a $500 parlay (taking it down for over $2,500) and then, when he attempted to withdraw his winnings, watched as the sportsbook took the winnings away, leaving him with only the $500 he initially deposited.

from what I'm reading, this sounds shady as hell, but I'm not a gambler and may be missing something.

I read that the other day. I tried doing the same thing with a $250 bet back when I signed up but lost and pulled my original money out. Luckily, I had no issues but after reading that I won’t use William Hill going forward
