Just not sure he is a guy who can play in space. Hope I am wrong, but never saw him as anything other than a SDE in a 4-3 defense.

"I love the Buffaloes and I want to be the quarterback for the 2016 season," he said.
That's why he spent so much time in Boulder during his break. He can't be on the field as the Buffs work on a revamped offense under co-coordinators Darrin Chiaverini and Brian Lindgren, but he got the most out of his time on campus.
"I was in the facility really from 6:30 to 6:30," he said. "I was up there all day, just trying to get a hold of the offense while I was up there. It was really a business trip, not really a spring break for me. It was fun."

I read that this morning and got a warm, fuzzy feeling.
Depends suck. I'm a Tranquility man. Comfortable and super absorbent with a scent of freshness.
So Donovan Lee is practicing solely at RB right now. Barring injury, that's 6 guys that are/should/will be in the "rotation". That's also 6 of the better athletes, on an offense starving for play makers, that are all vying for around 2 full time positions.

...absolutely not, we should all freak out right now.
We got a bunch of guys at RB and WR, but nobody who has stood out as a game-breaker, a true playmaker. Donovan Lee looked like a nice RB at times, but he doesn't scream out to me as the guy who "has to get the ball in space so he can take it to the house". He just hasn't shown that, nor has anyone on the current roster.
Until proven differently by newcomers, WR is the least talented position on the team as compared to our peers. You are watching a different game than I.

That's true...but from what I saw of Carr, he has a great burst of speed and is a half step faster than every other RB on the team. Maybe cuz he was a true frosh he wasn't able to break out as much...IDK.

My comparison wasn't to other teams, it was looking at what we have. You are right...the WR pool is largely unproven but from film etc they look like a solid group.
We have a lot of potential at RB and WR. Definition of potential means that they have not done it yet so we will see.
WRs should be helped by having a QB who can make quicker decisions and reads. Both WR and RB though are still positions that are completely dependent on how the OL does. No holes, no yardage for the backs, no protection, no opportunity for catches for the WR.
It would be good if we can get to the position where we can have most of our incoming freshmen RS without concern about being forced into action because of lack of depth.
Lee is intriging, it would be good to have a guy who forces defenses to worry about him as a runner and a receiver. I'd love to see some big plays from him slipping out of the backfield and catching passes in space.

I think you have a different definition of "stacked" than I. I think very few, if any, of our conference peers would swap out RB or WR rosters wholesale with ours.
"Potentially better than what we've had for several years," is a lot closer to the mark.

I am comparing to Buff teams past...not our competition. Pretty low bar to set.
Well, the only one that has a real chance of moving positions is Lee. That still leaves 5. It's great that we have all this depth at RB, but it feels completely wasted to me with either a 3-4 RB rotation or some very talented individuals not getting enough touches.

Maybe one can focus on being a plus contributor as a returner. One of the areas that our lack of overall depth has been most apparent in recent years is on special teams.
Would surprise me. As an OLB, I have trouble picturing him as more than a rush DE from a 4-2-5 package that our coaches call a 3-3-5.
