The Lincoln Gameday Experience

Right, but I provided you with an example of one on a college campus, while you cherry picked the world’s most extravagant RV parks.

Whose depiction do you think is more accurate?
That’s up to us, isn’t it? We can put in a crappy park or a high end park. I’m not interested in a crappy one. Interesting that you assumed that’s what would be put in.

Well how many millionaires with traveling mansions are itching to show for the game this Saturday? My guess would be less than one.

So why waste the space and money.

Had the same exact experience to a tee. Had some kid in an Uber way **** you. I responded sorry you have to live here and watch a ****ty team and he acted like he was going to get out of the Uber it was hilarious. Lots of strange passive aggressiveness. Crowd was kinda meh. Folsoms been louder. Had a blast though. I was sitting in section 20, row 87. Any other AllBuffs in that area? Had some dumb high school corn Husker fan who was annoying as hell.
Same section row 80 wearing a Tedric Thompson Jersey if you saw that

Yeah, boulder city counsel has never overstepped its authority.
They can try all they want. If CU wants to put in an RV Park, they will.

That’s not to say the City and CU have an adversarial relationship. For the most part, I think it’s reasonaly good. But Williams Village, the Stadium, and any other number of campus buildings don’t comply with city building codes and CU doesn’t give a damn.

I for one am against the university of colorado campus being desecrated by an RV park. It is already the country’s most beautiful campus. It doesn’t need this addition.
I think what @Not Sure is trying to say if people will listen, is that with the outdoors/ camping culture in Colorado and the real estate values/ wealth that Boulder attracts, that we wouldn't have to put in the type of RV park many think of when they hear "RV park". In fact, that would be stupid to do. There are high-end RV parks and it would make sense for Boulder. With extra capacity for game day, it could be pretty damn great.

Yes, that’s what I’m saying. I didn’t think it was that difficult to understand. Apparently I was mistaken.

The people at aTm in the photo that @Gary Indiana posted are quite well off. I do not believe that an RV park of any sort does anything to enhance the aesthetic quality of the campus. I also don’t think you’ll get agreement from the local community on the matter. Regardless of what he believes, the school will still be using municipal resources to make such a park. The city will have a say. Luckily, most people agree with my POV so this will be a non-starter.

I have to agree with the OP - their fans were actually very nice and pleasant. Pisses me off. First time I have been to Lincoln since 2008. I was impressed with the Railyard - fun atmosphere. Boiler Brewing had some phenomenal beers. I'm going to go take a shower now.

The water taps and sewer hookups are already there. This truly is a non-starter, though. There’s nothing Boulder can do to stop it if it’s something CU decides to do.

And for ****s sake, this would go somewhere like east campus or near the current family housing, not on the freaking Norlin Quad. Good lord, people. Think a little.

You keep repeating yourself as if it were fact with no proof.

Anyway, it won’t happen, so all is well.

The descriptions of ‘braska fans reminds me of some sort of sci-fi. Like “The Stepford Wives” or something. Sounds almost cultish.

I provided proof. Or perhaps you would like to show how Willams Village complies with, and received approval from the city of Boulder. Or maybe you just want to keep claiming the City has some kind of veto power over what CU does with its own property without, you know, providing any proof.

I think our concepts of proof are different. You need case law, articles, or some sort of knowledge expert to support you (since neither of us are experts).

Anyway, I don’t care to debate someone who doesn’t want to support his positions. This article says that the city was to provide final approval with modifications to will vill in 2011. I am sure the university built the place without approval from the city based upon your statements. I just couldn’t find anything to support your claims.

I am joking.

Holy hell, you give me and others crap for getting worked up over trivial things, embrace the ridiculousness of this threadjack.
I embrace all things ridiculous.

I do get miffed when people purposely misinterpret a simple statement supporting something as innocuous as an RV Park.

I don’t understand this. Why do you need an rv park. For a day or 2 there is no need for any hookups or permanent infrastructure as they are pretty self contained. If there really was an interest in people coming in with their RVs all you need is give them a place to park just like a large car. I don’t think having a few RVs parked in Boulder 6 nights a year would really turn Boulder into Arkansas.
Anyway, I don’t think all the sudden there would be a big influx of rv’s if that isn’t a part of the culture

I’d prefer to have a nice RV Park as opposed to a large parking lot. That’s all. I think it would be cool.

Just got back home and wanted to leave a short thought after scrolling through. I was in section 37 row 92. I also sensed the passive aggressiveness from some of the older fans that I encountered during game day, but with the younger fans I was pleasantly surprised with how genuine they seemed... especially because I just graduated but look like a sophomore. Overall the game was great and I was glad to be belting the fight song and shutting that stadium up. Also is it just me or did it seem super cramped in the aisles because they were so freaking narrow? I was also pretty upset I didn't get to see the B52 Bomber flyover because I was waiting in a tunnel to get to my seat for about 35 minutes.

My Lincoln gameday experience review:
TL;DR: very strange fanbase that is extremely passive aggressive. Also, a very friendly and quiet game day experience once in the stadium.

(P.S. Lincoln is an ugly ugly town outside of a few spots)

This was perfect. I feel like I was there. I'm checking stinkoln off my bucket list.

Thanks Darth and Tsarbomba for the summaries

Between Frost and these stories, it seems to me that they tried to act like this was just another game against just another team.... Did any of their fans have a sense of the rivalry? Did they have any feeling of the old bad blood?

The older ones definitely did.
