TN VOLS fans coming to UCLA/Colorado game

There is actually a very close correlation between golf and soccer. They are both games where you are actually watching grass grow.

To each their own, but golf sucks. Being an athlete can help you be good at golf, but being great at golf doesn't mean you're a great athlete. At no time does golf really push the human body to athletic limits. It's an impressive skill, but hitting a round ball coming at you with spin with a round bat is much more impressive of a skill to me. Golfers have a caddy to help them think through shots and carry their stuff...and they walk the course. They don't run the course, there's no timer... ...golf is like bowling. It's just an impressive skill...soccer, football, baseball, hockey, basketball, cricket, tennis, skiing/snowboarding, rugby, cycling, running, gymnastics, ballet, rowing, etc - all much more impressive athletically.

Have fun in Boulder @UTVols, you'll have a great time (thanks again for the AJ thoughts as well)...and yes, have fun golfing - supposedly it's awesome.

1) Your wife is mad at you.
2) Your dog just died.
3) You tried golf once and you sucked.

Which of those 3 choices is correct?

And who said, "Golf is more impressive athletically than those other sports?" You must be a liberal, starting your own arguments over things that were never said.

You should definitely join us in the politics forum.

The best use of a golf course is not golf.

You must be unathletic, because you like golf.

I have tried golf many, many times. I still suck

So doing a sport that isn't 100% brute power makes it not athletic. You sound like you draft for the Raiders when you say that. The best athletes don't necessarily have the best measurables. Sometimes being an athlete requires some finesse and touch.

Golf is like hunting, as sports go. Skill involved. Helps to be coordinated. But the main appeal is that it’s a chance for the guys to get together outside for several hours with an activity to bond around.

Top options for golf on our end are:
Broadmoor
Sanctuary
Club at Ravenna
Bear Creek
For the Broadmoor, you'll either need to get hooked up by a member or you'll need to be staying in the hotel (not cheap) to be given the privilege of paying $225 to $285 per person on top of your room rate. Great course, but expensive as ****. Source: stayed and played back in April.

HA - fair; it was unfair of me to bring those other discussion points up. #3 is definitely correct, although I've given it more than just one try. I suck at tennis, but I respect the hell out of the sport. I've hated golf a long time. I've tried it and have learned to hate it more for a multitude of reasons, and the arguments I presented are definitely ones made by my counterparts on the other side of the argument. So yes, they were not yours or someone specifically on this board, but in some form or fashion, have been made to me. I fully get that I'm in the minority on this, but it's not my fault that apparently @Darth Snow and I are right and the rest of you, as well as 90% of my friends, all are wrong.

Damn ****in straight. And you aren't in the minority on this. Most people agree golf is boring. We just have more than our share of nonathletic, fat, well-to-do individuals on this board.

Murphy Creek is a great track and close to DIA. You will deal with the fighter jets from Buckley AFB doing flyovers occasionally, but the course is always in premier shape and is a regular US Open qualifying course and they have held the US Amateur there as well.

One of the best value public golf courses in the metro area in my opinion.
