I know the risks were too high, but I really wanted him to return a kick this year and just show the 3-way ability. Wester was sensational, but just wanted to see it.
They wanted the passing TD so bad
I loved the few times when Hagen returned punts, as the starting QB.
I would have settled for an extra point.

Since 2014 the Maxwell has also gone to the Heisman all but 2 times. But if you go back further it seems like that it being split isn't uncommon

We have all seen Travis with the ball in his hands, a number of his TDs came with long runs through traffic after making a short to intermediate catch.
They didn't do it because of a) he needed a few moments to catch his breath and b) wasn't worth risking him when we had other guys who were threats at the position like Wester but I have no doubts in my mind that had they choosen to Travis would also have been the all-American as a punt returner and/or KO returner.
And had he done so he would have had at least a couple more TDs.

I think that we should be extra impressed when a college athlete is able to perform at such a high level while balancing all of the demands of having a wife and kids, such as visiting schools to select the best open enrollment option as the kiddos being put on their best path for college prep.
So he'll have another chance to win next year!
